moving shopping vintage

Trying to resist buying more furniture!

We’re a bit spoilt for shops selling furniture where we live. Our new house is bigger than the old one so when we moved we needed more furniture. Sitting in my lounge and writing this, almost everything I can see is new, and we definitely didn’t budget for it all in our moving costs! We shopped around, and looked online too, and found everything we needed. It should out last us too, unless wooden furniture goes horribly out of fashion!

Anyway, as all the large pieces of furniture have been bought and paid for, I’ve started to buy smaller pieces….

First of all I found lots of lovely wooden vintage doll beds for my daughter. They looked good in their original vintage state so I didn’t need to do much but give them a quick wash.

There was a vintage magazine holder too and last week I found another sewing table from the 1960s, so that came home too. You can imagine the strange looks I get, walking down our local high street, pushing a pram with various pieces of furniture balancing precariously whilst consoling my daughter who really wants to sit in her pram! Thankfully it doesn’t happen too often.

Despite our new larger house we don’t have space for many more pieces of furniture so I give myself a really stern talking too whenever anything catches my eye. And as long as my husband doesn’t get a text saying there’s something for him to pick up on the way home, then he’s happy too!
