From “Hygge” to parenting, the Danish way of doing things is often widely talked about and one of Denmark’s latest exports is no exception. “The Children’s Meditations In My Heart” by emerging Danish author Gitte Winter Graugaard, enables children to fall asleep within minutes. Now available in three different languages, it is beginning to change bedtime routines the world over. The Children’s Meditations In My Heart by Gitte Winter Graugaard A collection of four meditations for parents to read to their children, Graugaard’s book shows parents how to teach their child the importance of self-esteem and self-love, enabling them to drift off…

Over the summer the children wanted to make endless slime and goo. On the good days we used our tuff spot outside and the kids had so much fun making and playing with slime. We even made a video of one of our attempts. Making and playing with slime is a cool STEM activity so I was excited to receive a copy of The Slime Book to review. The Slime Book Play, poke, push and pull the gloopiest, gooiest slime with The Slime Book – perfect for some family fun or a slime-fest with friends. With more than 30 easy-to-follow recipes,…

With only a few days until Christmas, today I’m sharing a review of a really fun STEM toy which would make a perfect gift this Christmas. We love STEM toys and this ticks all the boxes for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. Xtrem Bot Trooper Bot The Xtrem Bot Trooper Bot looks pretty fun. He is a big toy and comes with a handheld remote, 5 missiles and charging cable. It was actually pretty easy to get out of the box (for once!) and the only thing we needed to supply was a screwdriver and 2 AA batteries before we could…

Did you celebrate Christmas Jumper Day today? It’s one of my favourite days in December. We’ve celebrated it for the past few years since finding out more about it. Today both my children got the chance to wear a Christmas jumper to school in return for making a donation to Save The Children. This year my daughter has a gorgeous jumper featuring a unicorn wearing a Christmas hat – all in sequins. My son has an Elf jumper (which I would steal if it was in my size!). My husband has a Star Wars jumper, I’m hoping he’ll wear it…

Today I thought I’d share an app I recently discovered. I love my iPhone and love playing games on it. It’s fun to discover a new game and I find they are the perfect way to take 5 minutes for myself and relax throughout the day. Crater Craft is a fun, free app for both iOS and Google Play. Games are always so much more fun when your friends are playing so I thought I’d share my Player Tag (#86351d6) in case you want to come and find me! Crater Craft from 55pixels The Crater Craft app is available on both iOS…

I love Christmas and I love Star Wars too. We’ve booked tickets to go and see Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi this weekend. My 6-year-old asked if anything was showing at the cinema but I said no! I really want to watch the new film as much as my husband and son. We’ve had so much fun with Star Wars crafts at home that I thought it would be fun to share a round-up of my favourites. 10 Star Wars Christmas decorations to make Easy BB-8 droid decoration from the gingerbread house This year we have a red…

I can’t wait for my kids to break up next week. Although this term has gone super quick, it’s been busy, especially the last few weeks. We made a conscious decision to not fill our weekends in December with too many events. There is so much pressure at this time of year – to pick your own Christmas tree, visit the latest Grotto, go ice skating and visit Winter Wonderland. My children have enough to do with school and after school clubs, so we wanted weekends to be fun and relaxing. Instead we’ve watched our favourite films at 9am on…

I love STEM toys, those which encourage Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Children are naturally inquisitive and there are some amazing toys to encourage them to continue their learning at home. My daughter was recently given a microscope for her birthday. It was a lovely, thoughtful gift, but quite basic. So we were delighted to receive the Zoomy 2.0 Handheld Digital Microscope from Learning Resources to review. Zoomy 2.0 Handheld Digital Microscope The Zoomy 2.0 Handheld Digital Microscope is a compact, handheld digital microscope which is easy for young children to use. It is aimed at ages 4-8 years and gives…
