Mindful stitching with the Winter Craftpod box

Winter Craftpod box

Before Christmas I received the¬†Winter Craftpod box. This is my favourite subscription box at the moment. It comes quarterly which means I actually have time to make what’s inside and enjoy it!

What was inside the Winter Craftpod box?

There were two Winter crafts – a sweet stitching project to embroider Winterberries in a small hoop, and a stamp making kit. There was also a postcard by Jamilla Beukema, a sheet of stickers by Nastia Sleptsova, a Black Chai teabag and Vivani chocolate.

I love receiving my Craftpod box, it really is something I look forward to opening.

The first thing I wanted to make was the Winterberry Embroidery. I love stitching, especially in Winter. I transferred the pattern onto the fabric and started stitching whilst watching Netflix.

It was really satisfying stitching over and over the red berries to make them nice and puffy. It’s not often I stitch something so simple but I think that made it more enjoyable. I love a bit of hoop art so will be adding this to my collection.

I have to be honest and say I haven’t tried the Winter Ink stamps yet. I’ve made stamps in the past, in fact I have a post scheduled about some I made recently. I haven’t got round to making more. I find them really time consuming and if I don’t have a good reason to make something I’m afraid I’m guilty of putting it off. Perhaps I’ll make some handmade cards or try carving something my children have drawn.

I also want to use the sheet of stickers on a candle. I saw that someone had applied their stickers to a plain white candle, which looked amazing. Check out #craftpod or #makingtheseasons on Instagram to see how people have used the contents of their Craftpod box.
