We’re now at the start of our third week of the school holidays. They are going far too quickly – SLOW DOWN TIME please! I’m really enjoying spending time with my children and we are having lots of good quality time together and making some fun memories. We can’t be busy all the time though and I made sure to build in some down time to our holidays. I make sure my children read books, play outside and fill in their summer scrapbooks but I know they really love their screen time. They can’t wait to switch off and watch…

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend and are enjoying the school summer holidays. The weather has been a little too hot for us but that hasn’t stopped us from having fun during the second week of the holidays. Each week I start off by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing. Monday mindfulness – Summer holidays (Week 2) We started off…

It’s one of our family traditions that during the Summer holidays we’ll have a trip to Legoland Windsor. This year 365 Tickets kindly gifted us a family ticket so we could visit this weekend. I was a bit worried about spending all day outdoors but we packed water, hats, more water and sun tan lotion and set off bright and early. Keeping the kids busy at Legoland Windsor Legoland Windsor actually opens at 9.30 which gives you half an hour to park, get through the bag check and have a quick loo break before any of the rides open. We…

This year is all about finishing things. I write that because I am so terrible at starting projects but not finishing them. For Christmas my mum bought me the cutest little sewing kit to make a sloth. I adore sloths, they are my favourite animal. Unfortunately it took me a while to start stitching this little kit. The DIY embroidered doll kit from kiriki embroidery was to make a little sloth. There were a few different animals to choose from but I couldn’t resist the little sloth. I was surprised how small the box was but it contained a printed fabric…

I love a good book and was so excited to receive an early copy of The Clockmaker’s Daughter by Kate Morton to read from NetGalley. I don’t know about you but I’m beginning to feel that I really need to draw on my supermum powers over the holidays. I love spending time with my children whilst they are young, and am so happy to have found a job which fits round their holidays. However, it can be pretty tiring planning days out in London, organising play dates, clearing up after their playing time as well as keeping on top of my blog. Yesterday was another hot day. We’re keeping little lists of all the things we want to do (to make sure we do them!)…

Are you surviving the school holidays so far? They are flying by for us and we have been having lots of adventures. We recently had a few nights away so I made sure to pack a selection of travel games to keep the children busy. Our little family loves board games so we were delighted to be sent a selection of John Adam travel games to try out. We have a few favourite travel games. We don’t use them just for holidays though, I usually slip one in my handbag when we go out for dinner, to the pub, or…
