This year we wanted to make a craft to commemorate the Fourth of July. Independence Day is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the Declaration of Independence of the United States on July 4th, 1776. The Continental Congress declared that the thirteen American colonies were no longer subject to the monarch of Britain and were now united, free, and independent states. We love a paper craft and thought kids would enjoy our simple Fourth of July paper banner craft. A few weeks ago my husband gave me an embroidery kit. I love a hand sewing project so was pretty excited to receive something from Cotton Clara as I pretty much lust over everything in her shop {take a look here!}. She sells modern embroidery kits which are perfect for some mindful crafting. I have to be honest, after a day at work and then looking after my kids, I find my mind is pretty frazzled. I love something I can just pick up, so this was a great embroidery kit for me. Rebels Get Results The Rebels Get Results…

A few weeks ago we finally got to visit the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, aka the Harry Potter Studio Tour. I can’t tell you how long I’ve wanted to visit and I didn’t realise you had to book so far in advance. I’ve read all the books, watched the films, and tried to introduce my children to the magical world of Harry Potter too. They’ve watched most of the films so we thought we would book a family ticket and visit the studio tour together. Warner Bros. Studio Tour London We only live 20 minutes away from the Studio…

Regular readers will know that every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have had a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for grown up crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new. Issue 105 came with a kit to make a cute pom pom watermelon which only took a few minutes, I have been looking forward to the next gift for ages! A few weeks ago I told you about Series 2 Transformer BotBots. These teeny tiny bots are a rare type of Transformers robot called BotBots. They are around 2cm tall and change from totally normal stuff to adventurous little robots in a few easy steps. Transformer BotBots My children just love collecting them. BotBots can disguise themselves as random everyday objects but then are transformed which means there are two ways to play! There are over 60 new characters to collect in Series 2 (including 10 rares) as well as three new tribes – Swag Stylers, Music Mob and Spoiled…

Two things my youngest loves – making slime and watching films at the cinema. We saw a trailer for Toy Story 4 at the weekend and we just can’t wait to watch it. It inspired us to make this Toy Story-inspired camo slime. Get out your Little Green Army men to help measure and make some! Toy Story-inspired camo slime supplies: 4 containers Large bowl Popsicle sticks or spoons 2 cups white glue 2 cups shaving cream 2 cups foaming hand wash 2 tsp baby lotion 2 tsp cornstarch Green paint Darker green paint Tan paint Black paint 2 tsp…

I love to start the week by writing Five Happy Things. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing. Despite this being a quick 5 week half term, I’m finding it is going very slowly. We’re counting down the days until it’s half term! Five Happy Things {Week 241} It felt like last week was pretty quiet. My daughter spent much of last week sitting her Year 2 SATs and…

I couldn’t wait to use my Cricut Maker to make a handmade gift for my children to give this Father’s Day.
