Disclosure – thanks to Welbeck for the chance to read this book. The end of 2020 is fast approaching which means my Goodreads challenge is nearly over for another year. I’ve read some amazing books this year and I really enjoyed my most recent read, The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel. I love books about the Second World War and when I read the blurb about The Book of Lost Names I absolutely had to read it. The Book of Lost Names The book opens when Eva Traube Abrams, a semi-retired librarian in Florida, is shelving books one…

With two creative kids we love our weekly Draw With Rob sessions. Every Saturday the kids look for clues on what the latest character will be, and we all look forward to sitting down for a drawing session. The kids have special notebooks just for their Draw with Rob drawings and my husband even bought a Kuretake pen, just like Rob uses! These drawing sessions kept us busy during the first Lockdown and we love that we have something to look forward to at the weekend. Draw With Rob at Christmas The kids loved his first book so were excited…

My son is the King of Memes (or so he tells me!) and was so excited to be gifted some of the latest Oh! My Gif toys, a new exciting collectible range from Moose. We reviewed some earlier this year and the kids were happy to see more of the range. The OH! MY GIF Dance Pack is inspired by the online social language of GIFs and is THE new way to express yourself!! Activate the OH! MY GIF GIFbits to discover their surprise movement and unique message – twist, turn, push and pull your GIFbit to bring it to…

Have you heard of a mug hanger before? It’s a biscuit that actually hangs over the edge of your mug. I bought a gingerbread house mug hanging kit a few years ago but was excited to try a kit I found in Sainsbury’s which included four different shapes. Festive Mug Hanging Gingerbread kit The Sainsbury’s Festive Mug Hanging Gingerbread kit contained gingerbread mix with red and white icing pens and stencils. All you needed to add was butter and Golden Syrup. The templates were printed on the inside of the box and needed to be cut out. First of all…

Do you have an Elf that visits on December 1st? We have two and I love coming up with ideas for them to get up to fun and mischief around the house. This year our house elves will be coming early so that they can quarantine in their very own Elf Isolation House. I toyed with the idea of them being in quarantine from December 1st but we want to have some fun with them, so they will be arriving early, all ready for adventures during December. Supplies: Clear bucket Elf Isolation House svg from Etsy red, black and white…

One of my favourite things to do at this time of year is to watch a Christmas film. The days are shorter and colder and thanks to this second Lockdown, we are happier to stay in and snuggle up with a film at the weekend. Earlier this year we were gifted Disney+ which the kids just love. There is so much familiar content and well as lots of new things to discover. Cheerful Christmas movies to watch on Disney+ With so many of our usual Christmas activities cancelled this year we will be making our fun in different ways. Swap…

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of gingerbread. I love baking it, decorating it and eating it! I’m not sure where it all started but now I find myself with gingerbread inspired necklaces, flavoured lip balm and even a gingerbread Christmas jumper. Gingerbread is delicious all year round and is easy to adapt to any occasion. Although we love gingerbread men and houses, we’ve also used our love of gingerbread to create gingerbread Death Star cookies, gingerbread Iron Golem biscuits and even Mr Twit’s beard! I was really happy to receive a copy of Modern Gingerbread to review. Modern Gingerbread…

I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I love to write. Monday Happy List {Week 317} I wasn’t really expecting to celebrate Bonfire Night this year but our street had a socially-distanced get together last week. We lit some fireworks we had and the kids all played with sparklers. It was really cold but lovely to see each other before the next…

Disclosure – this is a sponsored post Are we allowed to mention the C word yet? I started my Christmas planning as soon as the kids went back to school in September and am pretty pleased to say I’ve finished most of my Christmas shopping and meal planning. I always feel that if I start early I can enjoy December and the lead up to Christmas Day. Handmade gifts are something I love to give and receive and this is also something I make an early start on. However it’s never too late to start and I thought it would…
