It’s been a while since I shared a free printable but I know you are going to love what I have to share with you today. The Gingerbread Man is a classic Christmas tale (although it’s also a good story all year round!). It’s fun for children to read and there are some really lovely crafts you can do around the story. My free printable gingerbread man activity pack is perfect for toddlers and pre-schoolers. Trying new crafts is one of my favourite things. A few weeks ago I finally got round to making the Brass Himmeli star craft kit from Geo Attic. Originating from the Swedish word for sky or heaven, himmel, the Himmeli are a traditional Finnish ornament, a mobile decoration that is traditionally made out of straw, or reeds. They are typically suspended above the dinner table during the holiday season, ‘dancing’ with the drafts. It is thought that the larger the Himmeli, the larger the crop in the coming year. I couldn’t wait to try making the brass himmeli star and adding…

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. Monday Happy List {Week 321} December usually goes really quickly for me and this year is no exception. Although our elves have been in isolation for 2 weeks they were finally free on Tuesday. They brought our Advent crate which contained the children’s advent calendars (Lego…

Thanks to a second lockdown we have been back to exploring our local area again. Thankfully we are on the outskirts of London so are spoilt for places to explore which are suitable for our Bichon Frise puppy and two children. A few weeks ago we explored Northmoor Hill Local Nature Reserve in Denham. This is another of those places which is really close and we were happy to have discovered it. Northmoor Hill Local Nature Reserve Northmoor Hill Local Nature Reserve is part of the Colne Valley Regional Park and we’ve explored small pockets of it this year. There’s…

DO you have kids who love playing Among Us? Then you might like our easy Among Us gingerbread biscuits. You can earn serious Mum points by baking some special Among Us Crewmate biscuits and slipping them in your kids lunch box. Just in case you haven’t heard of the hit game set in space, you play as either Crewmates or an Impostor. Crewmates try to identify the Impostors, eliminate them, and complete tasks around the map; the Impostors’ goal is to covertly sabotage and kill the Crewmates before they complete all of their tasks. I’ve already told you about the…

We share a lot of family games because we love to play together. We’ve got into the habit of playing a different game after dinner and have a great selection. We were recently gifted Pass the Pud from Gibsons Games. Read on for our review and your chance to win a copy. With the whole family stuffed with turkey and granny snoring away in the armchair, what better way to inject some inter-generational festive fun into Christmas afternoon than a fast-paced game of Pass the Pud, a belchingly good word game – and without the calories! Great entertainment for the…

We may have overdosed on gingerbread biscuits recently so we thought it was time we shared one of our crafts instead. We craft a lot during the winter months and our fingerprint gingerbread family is sure to delight! It’s a lovely craft for kids and makes a great keepsake to enjoy each year. You will need: Brown paint A4 white card Colouring pens/glitter pens/pompoms or buttons to decorate How to make a fingerprint gingerbread family Younger children may need an apron to protect their clothes, and you might want to cover the table in some newspaper too. Set out your…

I wanted to share two of the little crafty projects I finished recently. Sometimes it feels like my makes are a little thin on the ground, but that’s only because I forget to share them! Craftpod is one of my favourite subscription boxes. It comes 4 times a year but the projects are worth waiting for. For some reason I didn’t finish the Summer box (maybe next year). Enchanted Garden was the theme for the Autumn box. I love the colours of Autumn so I was excited to receive the box. It contained two projects: a felt woodland badger with…
