Monday Happy List

Monday Happy List {Week 329}

February stitched calendar

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List  is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Monday Happy List {Week 329}

We had such a busy week last week, keeping ourselves as busy as we could. Home learning isn’t going brilliantly so instead we’ve been filling our time creatively. My children still aren’t allowed to return to school despite my husband and I both being critical workers so we’ve been juggling as best we can.

My son has been obsessed with the latest series of Junior Bake Off and been poring over our cook books to see what he can make. Last week he made a batch of Baby Yoda meringues which turned out well. I can’t wait to see what he makes next.

Home learning should be fun and we’ve been making time for lots of fun science experiments. Have you tried experimenting with Love Hearts before? We repeated our recent Candy Cane experiment with Love Hearts and it kept the children occupied all morning. I can’t wait to tell you more about it.

My son recently joined Scouts and they had their first Zoom Scouts meeting at the end of the week. My son loved it and it was great to see him having some fun with people his own age. They are keeping online meetings until at least April but he can’t wait to get back to face to face meetings.

He loves art so I’ve been looking for art classes for him. As well as his regular art classes with Blank Canvas he’s been taking part in Rebecca Strickson’s weekly super special art class. I also found a fun digital collage workshop with the V&A which both my children took part in. It means more screen time but being creative makes them happy.

Have a great week!

    Home schooling is a nightmare! My son is in secondary school and due to cases since October has pretty much been at home since half term! He is so over it but to the detriment of his education. I can see him slipping but am at a loss to engage him while I still work full time.

    Very intrigued by Baby yoda meringues, my son is baking and yoda mad!

    I want to watch Junior Bake off, so I need to hurry and catch up with the ones that I have missed. Really want to do some more baking myself too.

    I have been watching Junior Bake Off and so amazed at how they all cope with the challenges and how supportive they are of each other

    Sounds like a fab week. Wish Jack’s Cubs meetings were being online – he’s had about three in person meetings since last March and nothing online like other groups.

    Sounds like a great creative week, and even if it’s not traditional learning there’s still so much the kids will learn from things like that x

    Sounds like a great week there, I love how you make homeschooling fun for the kids, it has been a while since we did some science experiment so I would love to try this with the kids

    Sounds like you have been keeping very busy. It’s great that scouts did zoom for a club meeting.

    I have never actually used zoom, but I have a do a zoom call this week. If the scouts can do it, that makes it sounds less scary. 😉
    Home school stuff is complicated right now, in a way I love my little buddy being home, less stress about what he’s wearing as no uniform at home, but he’s also massively missing the social side.
