Today I’m sharing the festive cheer with our personalised baubles filled with the finest sweets. Christmas may be different this year but we’re keeping the spirit alive with a fun post sponsored by Haribo. To protect our loved ones we’ll be staying home this Christmas. I don’t remember the last time we spent Christmas on our own as a family of four. Although we are looking forward to it we will be missing our friends and family who we normally see. Although we may not be able to get together we can still share the spirit of giving with the…

My 9 year old loves an easy science experiment at home. I wanted to try a fun experiment with her but with a Christmas twist and came up with a really fun dissolving candy cane experiment. My daughter just loves a candy cane and the skittles experiment we did earlier this year inspired us to do something similar with candy canes. This simple winter craft activity is great for keeping kids entertained whilst learning. For our Candy cane experiment you will need: Pack of candy canes Plastic beakers Sticky labels Different liquids Measuring jug Dissolving Candy Cane experiment Candy canes…

Over the weekend I decided to make one of the gingerbread kits I had bought and featured in my Gingerbread Gift Guide. I chose the Waitrose Gingerbread & Shortbread Decorating Kit. The kit helps you bake and decorate your own magical festive treats and included ingredients to make both gingerbread men and shortbread Christmas tree shaped biscuits. I thought these would be great for baking edible gingerbread decorations to hang on our tree. Baking edible gingerbread decorations I just needed to add unsalted butter, water and golden syrup to the packet mixes. First I made the shortbread, leaving it to…

I like to put together a Christmas Eve Box for my children. Each year I find some new pyjamas for them as well as some treats, like a special hot chocolate, a new film to watch and perhaps some activities or games to keep them busy. They love to sprinkle reindeer food too and this year I thought I would make our own magic reindeer food tubes and label them using my Cricut Maker. Magic reindeer food tubes supplies: Plastic test tubes with plastic stoppers Bird seed Cricut Maker black and red vinyl transfer tape How to make magic reindeer…

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. We’re counting down the days until we all finish work and school. We’re really looking forward to having some time off and starting our Christmas holidays. Monday Happy List {Week 322} We had a few jobs to do this weekend like ice and decorate our…

Winter adventures seem a little slim on the ground at the moment. With so many events cancelled this year and everything else booked up we feel a little limited with our outdoor winter adventures. Thankfully we managed to get tickets to Hughenden Manor, one of our favourite National Trust days out, where we were able to explore the delightful Peter Rabbit Trail. Peter Rabbit winter adventure activity trail If you are looking for something fun to do outdoors with the kids then the good news is Peter Rabbit Trails are available at many National Trust properties this winter. Disclosure – post in collaboration with Font Bundles I don’t know about you but if my children receive gifts for their birthday or Christmas then I always encourage them to send a Thank You card. Not only is it polite, but I’m always looking for ways to encourage mindfulness in my children. Over the years we’ve tried both shop bought and handmade cards, and I have to admit that I love the handmade touch. The last thing my children want to do after Christmas is sit down and write, so we’ve tried to compromise by designing cards for them to…
