Monday Happy List

Monday Happy List {Week 331}

Patisserie Brione Afternoon Tea

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List  is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Monday Happy List {Week 331}

We made it to half term and I couldn’t be happier – or more in need of a break. I’ve been working in a secondary school throughout the third lockdown which has been strange. My son finally returned to school too and my daughter has been doing a great job with her home learning. We are all looking forward to relaxing at home and forgetting about school for a week.

Last week was so cold with lots of flurries of snow. I’ve never seen it snow so much without settling. My children enjoyed playing with the snow and ice. They looked for ice wherever we went. We even made a trip to see the strange natural ice sculpture in Eastcote over the weekend. Ice was hanging off trees on the side of the road, caused by cars driving through a puddle. It was the weirdest thing we’ve ever seen!

We’ve been watching a lot of Netflix recently. I’ve been enjoying Bridgerton but binge watching Call My Agent. It’s in French but subtitled so I have to concentrate when watching it. It’s about a group of French agents and features real actors as their clients. Apparently an English version is going to be made of Call My Agent by the team behind W1A. We’ve been enjoying WandaVision on Disney+ too, although I struggle with one episode a week, I like to binge watch my shows.

I finished my Wild Olive Hearts Day Stitching Club mini quilt. I love English Paper Piecing and it was fun to choose fabrics, embroider hexagons and stitch it together. I haven’t made a mini quilt for ages which is probably why I enjoyed it so much. I wanted to finish it for Valentine’s Day as there’s nothing worse than working on something seasonal after the event. Each hexagon is a mini chocolate in a wrapper, all held together in a chocolate box.

We don’t usually do much for Valentine’s Day but as we couldn’t go out we decided to treat ourselves to an Afternoon Tea for Two from Patisserie Brione in Eastcote. We enjoyed Afternoon Tea at home last month and it was amazing so couldn’t wait to see what they did for Valentine’s Day. We collected our boxes which were decorated with a red heart-shaped helium balloon. Inside was an amazing selection of sweet and savoury treats, more than enough for the four of us.

Have a great week!

    Last week we had a few days of snow flurries too and it certainly cheered us up. The days all seem the same at the moment so this brightened them up.

    Your afternoon tea looks tasty, such a nice Valentines Day treat. We’ve been loving Wandavision too, it’s so interesting to see how it connects into the whole MCU world x
