Monday Happy List {Week 332}

Monday Happy List

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List  is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Monday Happy List {Week 332}

Half term was great but hard work. We love our house but missed making plans to see family and friends. We went on lots of dog walks in rain, wind and sunshine! Some of our usual activities continued online and the children took part in karate lessons; Little Sis built with spaghetti and marshmallows at Cubs; Big Brother did pancake tossing with Scouts; and there was an epic 3 hour online art lesson where they produced some amazing optical illusion art.

We all love family games and were happy to be gifted a new game to play. Foul Play is a murder mystery card game and gave us a lot of fun last week. I really liked the fact it was a card game so small enough to pack in a bag when we get the chance to go away again.

Big Brother was challenged by Scouts to spend one night in a tent. Thankfully our living room is large enough to set up our tent and he planned some campfire food for us all to enjoy. They both slept downstairs, staying up late watching films and raiding their sweetie stashes.

We spend the weekends working on the garden. The weather was really mild over the weekend and everyone enjoyed being outside. We removed a small tree to make room for our outdoor dining table and chairs. Our garden parasol gives shade to the table but we wanted to put it up against the fence so the tree had to go. We’re having a small patio put in and making some planters so we can grow more. The garden is really starting to come together and will be such a lovely place to enjoy.

food from The English Indian

Our weekly treat has been a takeaway and I love that I get a night off of cooking. On Saturday we tried The English Indian who make classic fast food with an Indian twist. We tried their Indian style cod and halloumi with chips and it was amazing. They brought their food van to The Woodman in Ruislip so we were able to order online and collect. We can’t wait to try it again.

Have a great week!

    That food looks incredible!! We have started having take aways as a treat, it is a real pick me up for us all.

    I had to make the marshmallows and spaghetti thing in a job interview once. I must try it with the kids one day x

    The foul play games looks fun. Something we as a family would love to play. Love the idea of camping in the living room too.
