I love this time of year. The evenings have both light and warmth and puppy walks are so much more enjoyable than they were a few months ago! There are some lovely walks we can take from our house but our favourite is in Ruislip Woods. We noticed the first bluebells a few weeks ago so went off searching for bluebells in Ruislip Woods. Searching for bluebells in Ruislip Woods Ruislip Woods National Nature Reserve is the largest block of ancient, semi-natural woodland in Greater London and include one of the most extensive oak/hornbeam coppice woods in southeast England. It’s…

I have another hoop to show. I’m loving embroidery at the moment and couldn’t resist the modern bike kit hoop by Stella Caraman which came with the latest issue of Love Embroidery magazine. Modern bicycle hoop I love a cover craft kit and I knew I had to get my hands on this issue. It’s actually quite hard to get hold of Love Embroidery where I live so I’ve taken out a subscription to make sure I get all the issues! The craft kit contained a pre-printed cotton panel featuring a bicycle with a front and back basket full of…

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. Monday Happy List {Week 341} Last week was our first week back at school after the Easter holidays. My children were happy to get back to Cubs and Scouts. My son was challenged to take a selfie with all the knitted Post Box toppers he could…

A few weeks ago I was gifted a gorgeous craft kit from Craftiosity who put together wonderful monthly craft subscription kits. I’ve bought a few of their craft kits and always enjoyed making them, such as this clay pinch pot. I received the embroidered moon tea towel kit which was just perfect as I am really enjoying embroidery at the moment. Embroidered moon tea towel kit The embroidered moon tea towel kit contained an embroidery hoop, cotton tea towel, Anchor embroidery threads (dark grey, mid blue, light blue and dusky pink), an embroidery needle and embroidery design template. I love…

We have always enjoyed learning from home but the last year has meant long periods of learning about the dining room table. We are lucky that there are some amazing resources out there which make home learning both educational and fun. My 9 year old loves science and we have had a lot of fun trying science experiments at home. We have tried some of the National Geographic kits from Bandai UK and were delighted to be sent some more to try. With Earth Day coming up this week they have been great for helping the kids learn more about…

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. Monday Happy List {Week 340} We had a lovely Easter break but my children were happy to return to school today for the summer term. The weather improved so much over the holidays and although it started with snow it ended with lots of sunny, warm…

You may remember that last Christmas we all had fun decorating ready-made gingerbread house kits from The Best Bit. I was so happy to see that they were producing kits for Easter, so snapped up a gingerbread easter egg kit from The Best Bit. Easter was early this year and also fell at the beginning of our Easter holidays. We were so busy with our usual Easter baking that these got forgotten, we managed to squeeze them in just before we went back to school. The kit included 6 gingerbread eggs to decorate and fill. I thought it would make…

I can’t believe our Easter holidays are coming to an end. The weather has finally warmed up and we have had some lovely days out. The children have really enjoyed time away from school and home feels like home again. It has been great to see the kids playing with toys, and also able to buy them now that non-essential shops have re-opened. Do your children like Ben 10? If so read on as I have a fantastic giveaway to share today. In case you haven’t heard of Ben 10 then let mew tell you a little about him. Ten-year-old…
