With three weeks to go I am hopeful that both my children will be able to enjoy the last few weeks of term. I am certainly looking forward to a 6 week break if we can get through the next few weeks. Unfortunately my son has had his Transition Day and Year 6 trip cancelled which makes me so annoyed when I see all the crowds at the big sporting events taking place. Musings at the end of a school term So I couldn’t resist this amazing hoop kit I found, it summed up my thoughts perfectly! Beautiful backstitched florals meet…

Our garden has really come alive this year. It bring the whole family joy and we all enjoy spending time, nurturing our plants! So far this year we’ve eaten homegrown peas, our sunflowers are growing tall and we have gorgeous lavender. We’ve crafted with it before and I couldn’t resist sharing our easy no sew lavender bags. Lavender is great for helping to reduce anxiety and never fails to lift my mood. These easy no sew lavender bags are great for popping under a pillow at night to aide sleep, or even in a drawer to make clothes smell nice.…

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. Monday Happy List {Week 350} I managed to squeeze in some sewing last week and finished sewing my tunic top (which I had bought the pattern and fabric for ages ago!). It was fun to try making something different and I really like the top. I…

After 7 years we are still discovering new places on our doorstep. This weekend we explored an area known as The Gravel Pits in Northwood. Exploring The Gravel Pits, Northwood Unsurprisingly the area got its name as gravel was extracted during the time gravel was used for road surfaces. By the late 1890’s the gravel pits at Northwood were described as “worked out” and no more gravel could be extracted. Fortunately this small area remained unbuilt on and became a public amenity for the people of Northwood to enjoy. The woods are dominated by sycamore, ash and common hawthorn, interspersed…

Haribo kindly gifted us some of their new sweets to celebrate National Vegetarian Week. New for 2021 are Sour Sparks and Starbeams sharing bags, both a huge hit with my 9 year old who just loves her sweets. Haribo Sour Sparks Haribo Sour Sparks is a unique mix of chewy gummy sweets with a sour centre. Dual flavour combinations in each lighting…

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. Monday Happy List {Week 349} My mum looked after the kids so we could enjoy a day in Windsor. It had been a long time since our last visit but we enjoyed a lazy walk around the shops uninterrupted. I had forgotten what it was like…

I love working with Liberty fabric, even better if I have bought it directly from Liberty. A trip to Liberty is an experience and it’s been a while since I’ve had the joy of hopping on the tune to London, emerging at Oxford Circus and walking down to Liberty’s. Liberty London Liberty London, the designer department store selling luxury brands, was established in 1875 on Regent Street, in the West End. It’s well-worth a trip if you are in London and I love everything, from the flower stall outside to the beautiful miniature glass paintings in the windows (taken from…
