Monday Happy List

Monday Happy List {Week 350}

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List  is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Monday Happy List {Week 350}

I managed to squeeze in some sewing last week and finished sewing my tunic top (which I had bought the pattern and fabric for ages ago!). It was fun to try making something different and I really like the top. I used a gorgeous purple linen to make it. I also finished my latest embroidery hoop which was a fun kit from Hello Treacle. I have a few different sewing projects on the go at the moment which makes me happy.

Last week my son was invited to his new secondary school for a tour. I’m so glad we went as the Year 6 Transition Day has been cancelled which I’m really upset about. The last two school years have been all over the place with long periods at home and school confined to the classroom. Thankfully his new school is holding a week long Summer School for them so he will have a chance to make new friends and get to know the school.

We had a rare date night last week as my husband and I  went out for dinner without our children. We went to Lomito in Northwood which is an Argentine Steak Restaurant. My husband had steak whilst I opted for salmon and a delicious gin cocktail to go with it! I can’t remember the last time we ate out without the children and it was really lovely.

My mum has been staying with us recently so we were also able to go to the cinema. A few weeks ago we took the children to watch Peter Rabbit 2 and it felt amazing to go to the cinema after so long. We left the children (although they really wanted to come!) to watch Fast and Furious 9. It was a little silly but good fun, I’m sure they’re already working on Fast and Furious 10.

We are now letting our pup off the lead as much as possible and took him to the Gravel Pits in Northwood over the weekend. He loves woodland and had a great time. Being off lead seems to tire him out more which means peaceful evenings for us! On the way back we stopped off for some bubble tea and ice creams at Keke and Koko in Ickenham, it was so good to finally try some!

Have a great week!

    We really want to see Peter Rabbit. It must have been fun and strange to go to the cinema after all this time.

    Yay to more time off lead! We have been letting Buddy off a little more too. I really want to go and see the new Fast and Furious film!

    I love your embroidery project, and I support the subtle writing underneath the flowers, haha. It’s nice to go out and have dinner, I can’t wait for my next date night.

    Summer school sounds like a great idea to get the kids settled in and starting to make new friends, I can’t imagine how tough the last two school years have been on the kids x
