Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. I love starting off each week by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week.
Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things
I had quite a busy week. I started off slowly recovering from a horrendous stomach bug that completely knocked me for six. I hate being ill but gradually felt a little better every day. We did a lot of crafting after school last week, I love the Diary of a Wimpy Kid painted rocks my 7 year old finished.
We had some fun collaborations last week. Playstation sent us a really fun mailer which contained the latest PlayLink game, Frantics. As a family we love to play traditional board games so this was something a little different for us. Frantics can be played as a family via your smartphone. It’s all about 15 whacky mini-games for up to four players, where you’re competing in everything from frenetic action arena brawls to strategic turn based competitions.
On Friday my 7 year old came home with the Class bear. He was really happy about that as he’s been waiting all term for his turn. He has to write a diary for what we’ve been up to, so we’ve been out and about taking lots of photos.
On Saturday we visited KidZania London as they were kicking off British Science Week with an explosive one day Wonderlab experience, in partnership with the Science Museum. During the day there were 4 shows which took place in the Theatre which ranged from rockets to ‘magic’ tricks, instant ice cream to earth-shaking bangs. We were lucky to catch the Bubbles show which was really entertaining.
Yesterday was Mother’s Day here in the UK. I loved my home made cards and gifts from the children. I received some lovely flowers and biscuits from Moonpig. My husband bought me something from the new Tatty Devine Girls Got Ideas collection. In celebration of International Women’s Day and in partnership with the WOW festival, Tatty Devine teamed up with Poppy’s Papercuts to create a collection of poignant jewellery, inspired by six contemporary women they applaud and admire. You know how much I love Poppy’s Papercuts so I couldn’t resist the ‘I Make Stuff’ hand brooch. It’s perfect for me!
Have a great week!
