Frantics {Playlink for PS4}

Frantics Playlink for PS4

Friday night is Games Night in our house. We all look forward to it and it seems to mark the end of the working week and the start of the weekend. We are so lucky to have a great selection of board games. Over the last year we’ve added Ticket to Ride and Carcassonne to our collection which we all love. Sometimes my 6 year old gets a little frustrated, so we often play on the same side, but I love that they are now old enough to enjoy more grown up games.

Our Friday night games have always been traditional board games. But last week Nintendo sent us a very special mailer which included their latest family game Frantics. We got a little taste of this game when we attended the Playstation Family Showcase last year and my 7 year old loved it.

Social gaming is huge and something my son loves to do. It’s actually his birthday next week we’re having another birthday party at home where his friends will be playing on the PS4!  Frantics can be played as a family via your smartphone (also known as PlayLink). This PlayStation exclusive game is controlled by a smartphone or tablet, connected to your PS4. Just download the free app and have fun together.

We were sent a copy of Frantics as well as some fun colouring sheets and Frantics biscuits. Let’s just say I was the “best mum ever” so thanks Playstation! My son couldn’t wait so we downloaded the game, and set up the free app on our two iPhones and two iPads, so we could all play together.

playing Frantics

Frantics is all about 15 whacky mini-games for up to four players, where you’re competing in everything from frenetic action arena brawls to strategic turn based competitions. Exclusive to PS4, this PlayLink game challenges you to win more ‘crowns’ than your friends. Put your DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controllers to the side – here you can simply use your smart device to swipe, tilt, shake, flick and snap your way to victory.

playing Frantics

I admit I’m not a huge gamer, unlike the rest of the family, but I was able to play Frantics without any problems. Simply take your photo, add your name, and you’re away. You get to pick your character too and shake your handset to join the game. The games last just about the right amount of time so no one gets bored and they are all different and fun. My kids loved playing it with us but you can drop out of any games if you have to run off and do dinner!

My 7 year old loved the scheming and manipulative Fox who is on hand to stir up trouble. Using bribery and relaying secret messages and missions to each player via your mobile device, you’re encouraged to sabotage your rivals at every turn. My 6 year old didn’t like this so we had to make sure not to target her!

Frantics is fun and I can see us trying more of these kinds of games. I get really bored when my husband and son play Minecraft together, but it’s much more fun when we can all play together.

You can download Frantics from PS Store, it costs £15.99.

    This sounds like great fun for all the family. I highly recommend the board game ticket to ride when the kids get a bit older.
