Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.
Monday Happy List {Week 319}
We’re not really allowed to talk about Christmas in our house until my daughter’s birthday at the end of the month. However this year is slightly different. On Tuesday an Elf Isolation House appeared with our two elves in it. Yes, they had to arrive early due to quarantine restrictions on travellers from the North Pole! The kids were delighted to see them, although they keep expecting them to be up to mischief and they are being pretty quiet at the moment!
On Saturday we went looking for fresh Christmas Trees near us in London. We found The Christmas Tree Farm which was really fun to visit. They had loads of Christmas trees of all shapes and sizes and the smell was amazing. We’re still trying to figure out what to do as we’re a little worried about our cheeky pup., but we’re hoping to go back and get a fresh tree in a week or two.
The whole family adore gingerbread so we were delighted to be gifted a freshly baked gingerbread townhouse and cottage from The Best Bit. The children spent a lovely afternoon putting their houses together and decorating them with sweets. Of course they immediately wanted to eat them but I’ve persuaded them to enjoy looking at them for a week or two first.
Yesterday we visited the Oxhey Woods Sculpture Trail which is about 15 minutes from us. Our pup loves a walk in the woods and I knew the kids would enjoy a spot of geocaching, hunting for painted rocks and the wooden sculptures. I wasn’t wrong and we all enjoyed ourselves. The weather was sunny (for once!) and it felt so good to be outside.
The colder weather definitely keeps us inside more and we had a lot of crafting time last week. The kids are obsessed with the game Among Us which inspired our Among Us painted rocks. We also baked our Christmas cake and had time to cut these sweet little gingerbread house boxes from Mollie Makes.
Have a great week everyone!

November 23, 2020 at 4:00 pmHow wonderful that despite the cold you have managed to visit Oxhey Woods Sculpture Trail, it looks like a great walk. We have not started on our Gingerbread baking yet but will start soon as the kit from The Best Bit has tempted me to
