I love the period between Christmas and New Year. My husband had taken the whole time as annual leave so we were able to relax and went to my mum’s house for a few days. My weekly Happy List helps me be mindful of the small things which have happened in the previous week.
If you do something twice does that make it a tradition? I hope so. On Boxing Day we went to our local Pantomime. It was bad but in a good way and everyone seemed to enjoy it.
It felt like everyone received Lego for Christmas except for me. My son received 4 sets and my husband 1. Luckily I found a small set for me, the Lego Snowglobe. Our house is bursting with Lego so I quite happy for this small set. It’s very Christmassy so I expect it will be added to the pile which comes out every December.
We didn’t need anything in the post-Christmas Sales but that didn’t stop me stocking up on things for next Christmas! I really couldn’t help myself but I bought crackers, Christmas cards, more decorations, new Christmas Eve pyjamas for the children and even a few gifts. Now I jut need to put them somewhere safe so I remember I bought them.
I feel like I have indulged in one too many toasted marshmallow hot chocolates at Costa over the festive period. They make a lovely treat but I’m going to have to stop having them, just as soon as we’ve eaten all our Christmas chocs.
Yesterday we finished the kitchen. There were a few small patches that needed tiling and painting and we really wanted them done before my husband went back to work. New Year Day felt like any other day and the weather was so bad it felt like a good use of our time.
Have a great week everyone and Happy New Year!
