I love little projects I can whip up in an hour. They satisfy my need to make something and often result in something useful and pretty too. My stash of Liberty fabrics always sits on my desk and I love to use it in my crafting. I chose a piece of pretty pink floral Liberty fabric Tana Lawn Capel S to make this sweet Liberty floral key fob.
You will need:
One piece of floral fabric 5cm x 21.5cm
One piece of felt 4cm x 20cm
One metal key fob
One metal key ring
Needle and thread or sewing machine
How to make a Liberty floral key fob
Cut your piece of felt to 4cm x 20cm and your piece of floral fabric to 5cm x 21cm. Place the floral fabric with the patterned side facing down, and fold one of the long edges of the fabric towards the center with a 0.75 hem.
Press in place and repeat with the other three sides.
Then place the floral fabric on to the felt piece and hold in place with a few pins. Make sure the floral fabric is placed centrally and you can see the same amount of felt on the long edges (the short edges will be covered by the key fob).
I stitched along the long edges with my sewing machine.
You could easily do this step by hand if you don’t want to use a sewing machine.
Fold the piece of fabric in half and place the metal fob over both the short ends.
Squeeze the open ends of the fob together and attach the key ring to it. You have finished your Liberty floral key ring. Perfect for keeping your keys safe, or to give as a handmade gift.
