For my birthday I received the very pretty Floral Felt Easter Egg decorations kit from Pretty Fabrics & Trims. They make the nicest embroidery kits, everything is included so the kits are perfect if you want to make something and don’t want to worry about sourcing all the supplies. My birthday was last month so I knew I had to get these made (rather than leaving the kit in the cupboard for another year!).

Floral Felt Easter Egg decorations kit

The Easter Egg kit contained all the felt and embroidery threads to make four decorated Easter Eggs.

I love the colour palette that Sarah chooses, they are always something I would love to have the skill to put together! The felt is also great quality and feels so soft to work with.

The kit included paper templates so I cut them out and used them to cut out my felt pieces with small sharp scissors. You could use freezer paper if you wanted but I decided not to bother as the pieces were so small.

Once I had all my felt pieces I was able to start sewing. Each egg was decorated with a colourful bow and six flowers. The pattern featured French Knots but I’m afraid I left these out (I hate French Knots).

I took the kit away with me whilst we were on holiday, but didn’t have time for any stitching.

So as soon as we returned home I was able to complete the front of each egg, then sandwich the two layers together to complete them. Each egg has a small hanging loop of string so they can be hung up – I just need to find somewhere to hang them!
