I love Easter but it has really crept up on me this year. We’ve made Easter Egg Tiffin, folded origami bunnies and seem to be surrounded by eggs (both the edible and decorated kind). Over the last few days I’ve been decorating polystyrene eggs with some Liberty scraps. It’s a great little project for using up any Liberty scraps you have carefully kept.
How to make handmade Liberty Easter Eggs
I gathered my supplies:
Scissors
Liberty scraps
Polystyrene eggs
PVA glue
Paint brush
I made a small pot of watered down PVA glue and cut my chosen Liberty fabrics into small pieces.
Then came the messy part, covering a small area of the polystyrene egg with watered down glue, and covering it with pieces of Liberty fabric.
It was messy but fun.
The eggs were quite small so it didn’t take long to cover them. I tried sticking a pin into one end to give me something to hold on to but I ended up quite messy either way.
I stuck down any loose ends with extra glue and placed them on little cups to dry out fully.
I love using my Liberty fabrics to craft with. The prints are so pretty and I chose some pinks and yellows to make a Spring basket. We don’t yet have an Easter tree but these will be easy to adapt to hang up if we get one.
