Halloween teacake spider treats

I’ve been excited by the thought of Halloween for a while now. We actually went on a little Halloween shopping spree a few weeks ago and I couldn’t help but be excited by some Halloween crafting with the children.

Today I’m joining up with some other bloggers and taking part in a Halloween Blog Hop organised by The Moments at Home. Our Halloween craft is Halloween teacake spider treats. I love teacakes and they can be decorated in so many ways throughout the changing seasons – see our teacake Christmas puds here. Teacake spiders are fun and taste delicious too!

We picked up our supplies in Waitrose, all we needed was a box of Tunnocks’ teacakes and some ready made icing pens.

We unwrapped the delicious teacakes and warmed up the icing pens by rolling them between our hands. Then we started decorating the teacakes. I made simple spider webs with the icing pens, and added tiny spiders.

My 5 year old did her version 🙂 She decided to add candy eyes to her spiders.

We made a selection of very spooky Halloween treats. You can probably guess that they got eaten straight away as Tunnocks’s teacakes don’t last 2 minutes in our house.

I would definitely make these again for Halloween. They were so much fun to decorate and the perfect Halloween craft for kids too.

Today I’m joining in with the Halloween Blog Hop. Don’t forget to take a look at what others have been making:
