My daughter and I have been making some little Halloween costumes for our Maileg mouse collection. Halloween is one of favourite times of year, we’ve already made so many Halloween crafts!

Easy Maileg Halloween costumes

This is an easy craft and we used acrylic paint we already had, as well as four cardboard tubes. We used cardboard tubes to make our miniature Halloween costumes – a pumpkin, ghost, monster and bat.

First we painted the cardboard tubes, leaving the bottom as we knew we would need to cut the cardboard tubes. We set them aside to dry, and gave them a second coat of paint.

We left the lower half un-painted as we knew we would need to cut the cardboard tubes. We placed our mice next to the tube and made a small mark so we knew where to cut. Then we trimmed the cardboard tube to the size of each mouse.

And cut two small holes for the arms to poke through.

We carefully pushed the arms through the holes and the mice were nearly ready.

The final step was to draw on eyes and mouth with a black pen. We added a face to the ghost, pumpkin and monster costumes. For the bat we used the extra piece of black cardboard tube to make bat wings and attached these to the back of the tube with a split pin.
