Monday Happy List

Five Happy Things {Week 497}

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while over the last few years. It is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.

Five Happy Things {Week 497}

Over the weekend we finished watching Constellation on Apple TV+. I’m not usually a big fan of thrillers but this was pretty good for some escapism in the evenings.

My son had his Duke of Edinburgh expedition this weekend. We were glad the weather was dry for him, if a little cold overnight. He enjoyed the experience, walking 30000 steps on Saturday and 20000 on Sunday.

With my son away for the weekend my daughter requested a trip to Puttshack in Watford. She loves crazy golf and Puttshack ticked all the boxes. We paid for a round of 9 holes which took about 20 minutes. She won and was pretty pleased with a few hole in ones.

On Sunday my daughter took part in the St George’s Day Parade with Scouts. She has done this every year for the last few years and it was lovely to see her looking so smart in her uniform (which I spent all last week sewing her badges on to!).

goldwork brooch

I completed the goldwork heart brooch from a Cotton Clara sub box. It was a little tricky to sew with the metal threads but the brooch turned out ok. I’m happy to have tried goldwork but I’m not sure I would try it again.

    I always love seeing what new needlework you’re doing. It’s inspired me to get back at it!

    Even though I pass it all the time I’ve still never been to the Puttshack in Watford, I need to give it a go. That’s so good that it didn’t rain for your son’s D of E, I remember one night on mine it raining and it was horrible x

    I love seeing the kids do St George’s Day parades! Sounds like you son did well on the DofE even if he was a little cold overnight. That is an impressive amount of steps that he managed.

    So glad that your son enjoyed the duke of Edinburgh expedition and the weather was dry for that.

    Watching Constellation sounds like a cozy way to unwind, and I’m glad your son had a successful Duke of Edinburgh expedition. Crazy golf at Puttshack sounds like a blast, especially with a victory for your daughter!
