Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while over the last few years. It is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.
Five Happy Things {Week 491}
I found a free hamster cage on our local Facebook group and now we have a hamster! We had a couple of trips to Pets at Home to pick up supplies and my daughter chose a hamster she liked as she has wanted one for ages. She is enjoying having a hamster (after getting used to it being awake at night!).
Last week was pretty busy but I managed to finish the magnolia embroidery I was stitching. I gave it to my mum for Mother’s Day as I know she loves magnolias as much as me. She also displays the hoops which is something I never seem to do.
We went back to school for my son’s Year 9 Options evening. I can’t quite believe it is time for him to be picking his GCSE choices already.
On Saturday we drove to Birmingham to spend the day at The NEC for Crufts. I’ve wanted to go for years and we finally made it. Saturday was the Working and Pastoral breeds and we got to watch some of the breed judging, as well as the Young Kennel Club. Our favourite part was Discover Dogs at Crufts as there were over 200 different breeds to meet. My daughter got to see every type of dog you can imagine which was really fun.
For Mothering Sunday we booked afternoon tea at the Battle of Britain Bunker. This is somewhere local we love to visit and always enjoy lovely food in their cafe. Our afternoon tea was set up in the exhibition hall and was a fun location. We enjoyed finger sandwiches, cakes and scones, as well as lots of tea.
Have a great week!

March 11, 2024 at 3:55 pmThank you for sharing the things that make you happy. I have a similar series on my blog called “Grateful Dad” and it’s basically the same concept. I share the things that make me happy and grateful for.

March 12, 2024 at 9:40 amI think that would be fun to go see the different breeds of dogs too. My granddaughter wants to go to a place close to us that has hundreds of cats. They have odd hours so we haven’t made it yet
