Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.
Five Happy Things {Week 467}
My son went to Scout camp for the weekend. The weather has been dry but cold. He went to an outdoor activity centre on the Thames where they were able to try Kayaking, Canoeing, Dragon Boating, Bell Boating, Rafting, Aeroball, Climbing and Crate Stacking.
We’ve been trying to visit different Board Game Cafes in London and went to Rogues Quarter Board Game Cafe in Kentish Town on Saturday. This is quite a large Board Game Cafe in an old pub with a huge selection of board games. We chose Muffin Time and Ticket To Ride: Heart of Africa, neither of which we had played before. The cafe was dog friendly too and we had a fun couple of hours there.
Also on Saturday we went to The Vine in Kentish Town for lunch. We used to eat there when we lived in that part of London and wanted to go back. They had two shufl boards in the back of the pub so we stayed after our lunch and played a few games. In Shuffleboard you send weighted discs down a narrow court, with the aim of stopping within certain areas to score points.
We took the dog for a walk to Parkland Walk along the old railway line between Alexandra Palace to Muswell Hill and beyond to Highgate. We started at Cranley Gardens and walked towards Ally Pally, stopping for some geocaches along the way. There were the most amazing views over London from the old track, as well as works by Ben Wilson, the chewing gum man, to spot and admire.
My sister’s birthday is coming up and I am trying to be organised with my homemade gifts this year. I have stitched her birthday present and it looks great. I am hoping she will like it, so I won’t be showing a picture of it until she has seen it!
