Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.
Five Happy Things {Week 449}
Both my kids had successful weeks at school. My son was awarded a Headteacher’s Commendation for achieving the highest mark in a Maths Challenge. My daughter was chosen to take part in a local Cricket competition which she really enjoyed.
We had a fun day out on the south coast over the weekend where we explored the Hovercraft Museum in Lee-On-Solent, the only hovercraft museum in the world. We got to explore lots of hovercrafts which everyone enjoyed. I discovered a huge sewing machine which was used to stitch the skirts of the hovercraft – I’ve never seen such a huge sewing machine before! The weather was amazing and we spent some time on the beach with some friends too.
I finished reading The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman which is part of the Thursday Murder Club series. It was just as good as the first book in the series and I read it quite quickly. I’ve picked up The Dress Diary of Mrs Anne Sykes: Secrets from a Victorian Woman’s Wardrobe, I’m determined to finish it this month.
Have you watched the Bridgerton prequel Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story on Netflix? I binge watched this in a few days and thought it was really good, and a little sad and poignant too. I haven’t been binge watching all week, we’ve also spent a lot of time outside in the garden.
Last week I was mainly sewing badges on the kids Scouts uniform. They were both given badges to celebrate the coronation of King Charles which have been added to their uniforms.

Sounds like you all had a great week! I haven’t watched that show yet, but I’ve been seeing a lot about it recently.
It sounds like both kiddies did well last week. I’ve not seen Queen Charlotte yet. It’s great to hear that you enjoyed it.
Sounds like a lovely week. The kids done brilliantly and a trip to the coast is always a good way to reset the soul!
Your “Five Happy Things” list is a wonderful reminder to appreciate the simple pleasures in life, from enjoying a cup of tea to discovering a new favorite book.
You all seem had a great week! I haven’t watched A Bridgerton Story but it seems like a great movie. Will check this movie later.
I have watched Queen Charlotte and it was as good as Bridgeton. 🙂
Wow, your kids are amazing. Congratulations on the awards!
I didn’t like Bridgerton the series at all, but I will try watching the prequel.
I love antique shopping and finding so many different pieces from the era. Bridgerton was great but I’ve only seen the first season. I’m really excited about the spinoff series though!
The week seems to have been a great one for all of you!
I had no idea there was a hover craft museum – I would be really interested in visiting it, so thank you for sharing!
