Get ready for Summer with the Creative Craft Show which is on at Birmingham, NEC between the 23rd – 25th June 2023. With Summer fast approaching visitors to the Creative Craft Show at the NEC Birmingham can discover the latest trends, stock up on supplies, meet the industry’s top names, take part in workshops and marvel at live demonstrations.
The event which runs from the 23rd -25th June is the perfect way to celebrate the warmest season and all it has to offer. Visitors can expect eye catching summertime displays linking in with the shows Tropical summer theme and craft enthusiasts will have the opportunity to experience the creative process first hand by participating in a variety of crafting workshops.
The workshops include everything from glass fusion, calligraphy, pyrography, quilling, mosaic, sewing, crochet, printing, silver clay and more across 5 workshop rooms. To guarantee a place on these popular workshops, attendees are encouraged to pre-book online.
For inspiration demonstrators will be on hand to provide attendees with guidance and information on their respective crafts, including:
Anne Tyson, a mosaic creator, will showcase her outdoor mosaic art, teach attendees how to create their own
Rachel Warrillow, a paper crafter, will demonstrate her quilling techniques and provide tips on how to begin
Tracey Spurgin, Senior Art Clay Instructor, will teach attendees the art of creating beautiful jewellery using metal clay
Clive Bruder, founder of ‘We Sew Too’ will challenge the gender stereotypes attached to craft and sewing
Jennie Rayment, TV demonstrator, will provide attendees with instructions on her novel notions on fabric fiddling
Mark Francis will demonstrate patterns and teach workshops
Hannah Blowes will teach attendees how to make fine art printmaking through her workshops and Make & Takes
Groups and guilds will also be present, including the Family History Federation, The Marquetry Society and The British Polymer Clay Guild.
As regulars to the show will know, The Creative Craft show is a haven for paper crafting, art materials, jewellery, ribbons, floristry, and other hard crafts including willow weaving and pottery workshops, so there are plenty of opportunities to gain advice from industry experts, as well as the chance to try something new in the Creative Den workshops. From needle felted animals to paper quilled hearts to textured sterling silver ring making workshops, the show is packed with every type of craft only limited by imagination.
