Family-friendly films to watch on Netflix this Christmas

I can’t wait for my kids to break up next week. Although this term has gone super quick, it’s been busy, especially the last few weeks. We made a conscious decision to not fill our weekends in December with too many events. There is so much pressure at this time of year – to pick your own Christmas tree, visit the latest Grotto, go ice skating and visit Winter Wonderland. My children have enough to do with school and after school clubs, so we wanted weekends to be fun and relaxing. Instead we’ve watched our favourite films at 9am on Saturday morning in our pyjamas, built gingerbread houses, and only popped out to go and sing some Christmas carols – bliss!

My children both finish school on Wednesday so I’ve been looking out for the best films on Netflix we can snuggle up and watch together. We love watching Christmas films and have been trying to save one to watch on Christmas Eve. It’s always fun to celebrate the festive season with your favourite characters, from Arthur Christmas, to King Julian, to the Minions… Netflix has you covered.

Arthur Christmas

At Santa Claus’s super-secret toy-making facility, Mr. Claus entrusts his Son, Arthur, to carry out an ultra-important Christmas mission. This is definitely my favourite Christmas film!

Jingle All the Way

A desperate dad must match wits with a sleazy Santa, a stressed-out mailman and a horde of parents to procure a hot new toy on Christmas Eve.

The Legend of Frosty the Snowman

The mayor of Evergreen dismisses magic as nonsense, but when Frosty the Snowman blows through town, he shows the local children that magic is real.

Miracle on 34th Street

In this remake of the holiday classic, Dorey Walker and young daughter Susan befriend a department store Santa Claus who claims he is the real deal.

Casper’s Haunted Christmas

Casper faces getting into a heap of trouble with the king of ghosts unless he frightens at least one person before Christmas Day.

I’ll be home for Christmas

Assistant DA and single mum Jackie’s plans to wrap up a big case and enjoy Christmas with her daughter, but her plans are disrupted when her estranged dad comes to visit.

Santa Claws

When a gift sack full of kittens gives Santa a bad allergic reaction, the kitties have to take over and deliver the presents alone!
