We love pumpkins! We have a whole display of them, thanks to our recent pumpkin patch visit. A few years ago we decorated our pumpkins without carving them. Instead of traditional carving we used washi tape and googly eyes and it was FUN! This year we wanted to try something a little different using the Cricut Maker. This simple cutting machine has really changed the way we craft at home!

Cute and easy pumpkin decorations with Cricut
When we visited the pumpkin patch I knew I wanted to find a Polar Bear Pumpkin. This ghost white pumpkin is just perfect for Halloween! I’d seen a few fun ways to decorate pumpkins without carving them and decided to use my Cricut Maker machine to cut a vinyl decoration. There are some lovely free projects on Cricut Design Space and I found some gorgeous botanical silhouettes to use.
The project was relatively straightforward using my Cricut Maker. I picked a lovely green vinyl from my stash, I knew this would stand out really well on the white coloured pumpkin.
I set the Maker to cut out the different silhouettes, then cut round each one, weeding around each one and adding the Transfer Tape.
I found the best place on the pumpkin to place the vinyl cut outs, removed the backing of the tape and positioned them in place.
As the pumpkin had a curved surface I used the Cricut tools to remove any bumps as I went.
Adding vinyl to pumpkins is a really fun way to decorate them.

Ahh that’s a really effective way of decorating them
What a cute way to decorate without all the mess of carving (plus I am terrible at carving!)
