Over the Summer we visited The Pop Up Farms Sunflower Festival and we couldn’t wait to come back and visit their pumpkin patch. The PYO Pumpkin Patch opened today and we were delighted to visit ahead of a very busy October.

We had such a good experience at the Sunflower Festival that we knew what to expect at the Pumpkin Patch. As we entered the site we were directed to the free car park, parking near the entrance. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff who told us what to expect and where to go. The children couldn’t wait to explore the bale maze and spent some time jumping around and burning off some energy.
I couldn’t wait to visit the pumpkin patch though! We grabbed a wheel barrow from the wheel barrow park and familiarised ourselves with some of the 16 different varieties of pumpkin which were growing.
We spent a long time walking through the pumpkin patch. We last visited one 2 years ago when we were in Somerset and the weather was SO cold that we didn’t stay out too long.
The weather was warm enough today though that we spent about an hour exploring the pumpkin patch! It was huge and we followed the path around it, reading all the signs about pumpkins and squashes. The kids just loved it and it was a great experience for them to see the pumpkins growing.
We filled our wheel barrow with as many pumpkins as we wanted before heading to get them measured and pay. We also picked up a special sack to put them in (my husband is very precious about his new car!).
The kids were a bit tired after all the fresh air, and picking up some pretty big pumpkins, so we headed over to the little cafe to get some hot drinks and popcorn. There was just about enough time to play in the bale maze again before we headed home.

It’s amazing how many varieties of pumpkins there are, some don’t even look like pumpkins. It’s not even far from where I live–I might give it a go and have a look around
Awww .. how adorable is this pumpkin patch! And there’s no better way to enjoy one than with kids. It’s just my husband and me at home now and we still make the trek to our every year. There’s nothing better than bringing home a big pumpkin to put outside our front door. They always make me smile! xx
We were just around the corner from here at the weekend but didn’t realise that it was on. I’ll have to see if we can squeeze in a trip
I can’t wait to pop up the road to this! It is such a wonderful thing to have on our doorstep, we are incredibly lucky.
I’d love to go pumpkin picking as I think this would be so much more satisfying than just buying hem in a store. I might need to check how close this place is to me x
