Crafting with Aquabeads

A couple of weeks ago Big Brother was sent the Deluxe Aquabeads Set to review. This set costs £19.99 and is available from Amazon and all good toy shops. He was very excited when he saw the box! He enjoys crafting with Hama beads and these are similar, small beads which can be used to make patterns. The difference is that you set them with water so no waiting around for mum to get the iron out!

The Aquabeads Deluxe Set is the perfect set for new Aquabeaders! With over 800 beads, and 8 template sheets there are plenty of designs to be made, and you can create 3D creations with this set including a pencil-holder and photo frame. You can store the Aquabeads in the bead case and the bead pen is super handy for extra precision. The set also includes a layout tray, base tray, sprayer and instructions.

Big Brother loved the idea of Aquabeads. He found the bead pen a little tricky to master but eventually got the hang of it and this is a great activity for honing those fine motor skills. So far he’s made a couple of the designs. He liked the rainbow and the picture frame most but we also made some flowers and birds. The first time we tried to lift a finished design off the layout tray it fell apart so we sprayed it with more water, left it to dry then turned it over and sprayed it again, until it stuck together!

It’s recommended for ages 4 and over and my son really enjoyed the set. The packaging is very girly, as are the designs, however I would say this craft would appeal to both boys and girls. You can also make your own designs so there are endless possibilities. We had a great afternoon crafting with Aquabeads and can’t wait to do more.

You can find more designs on the Aquabeads site, they can also be found on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest so make sure to follow them for more fun crafting ideas.
