Spring is my favourite season, along with Autumn. I love watching my garden come to life after the winter months and this year I have reaped the rewards of all the planting I did last year. Spring stitching with the Spring Craftpod 2022 box My garden is full of wild violets which I can never bear to pull up. I’m glad I didn’t as one of the projects in my latest subscription box was a sweet embroidered glasses case featuring violets. I do love my crafty subscription boxes and the Spring Craftpod box was full of treats. I especially loved…

I was lucky to find time for some crafting over Christmas and New Year. I took a little pile of projects away with me which meant I had plenty to keep me busy in the evenings once the children had gone to bed. Regular readers will know that each month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have had a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for grown up crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new. Issue 100…

I’m cutting it pretty fine with the Summer Craftpod box as today marks the first day of Autumn. The subscription box arrived a few months ago but it’s taken me ages to find time to make the projects – Summer holidays and working leave little creative time. The constant rain this weekend has kept us indoors (by choice!) and today I found time to finish the little needle book and put it together. Mindful weekend sewing with the Summer Craftpod The Summer Craftpod contained a Rose cross stitch project designed by Lucy from Attic 24, a sweet floral needle book…

This year is all about finishing things. I write that because I am so terrible at starting projects but not finishing them. For Christmas my mum bought me the cutest little sewing kit to make a sloth. I adore sloths, they are my favourite animal. Unfortunately it took me a while to start stitching this little kit. The DIY embroidered doll kit from kiriki embroidery was to make a little sloth. There were a few different animals to choose from but I couldn’t resist the little sloth. I was surprised how small the box was but it contained a printed fabric…

At the start of this year I had huge plans to tidy up my craft stash. My 2018 Craft Goals included sorting out my craft books, fabric stash and pile of WIP’s which were out of control and needed reining in. We’re almost half way through the year so it seems like a good time to write a little update here on my blog. My 2018 Craft Goals {6 month update} I have stitched a few of my WIPs, not as many as I wanted to, but still. At least I have been sewing more. I finished the sashiko stitching…

I am so terrible at making time for my hobbies. Sewing and paper cutting are two of my favourite things to do, yet I rarely make time for them. I subscribe to the Craftpod subscription box and the Spring box arrived months ago. It included two hand stitching projects which were lovely but it’s taken me weeks to get round to actually making them. We did a lot of travelling over half term so I made sure to pack my Craftpod box. Everything fits nicely in a slim box which makes it perfect for carrying around in a handbag. The…

Where did February go. I love February but it just whizzed past, March is here and I’m feeling a little disorganised about it! I received some lovely mail last month, including the February Signs of the Sewdiac box. This is a new subscription box for crafters, based on the Signs of the Zodiac. I really enjoyed the January box so signed up for the February box too. It arrived last week and contained a craft kit which I was excited to receive. Signs of the Sewdiac subscription box The theme for the February box was scissors, so the contents were…
