I’m cutting it pretty fine with the Summer Craftpod box as today marks the first day of Autumn. The subscription box arrived a few months ago but it’s taken me ages to find time to make the projects – Summer holidays and working leave little creative time. The constant rain this weekend has kept us indoors (by choice!) and today I found time to finish the little needle book and put it together.
Mindful weekend sewing with the Summer Craftpod
The Summer Craftpod contained a Rose cross stitch project designed by Lucy from Attic 24, a sweet floral needle book designed by Carole from www.maggiemagoodesigns.com, as well as a rose enamel pin, a Summer postcard and a Canton Tea’s Red Berry teabag.
I enjoy cross stitch but have little patience for it so put it to one side and picked up the printed panel. I enjoy stitching these and stitched over a few nights catching up on Season 2 of Ozark on Netflix.
This morning I cut it out, got my sewing machine out for the first time in ages, and stitched it together. It was the perfect project whilst I supervised homework and helped my youngest bake a brownie. It’s not perfect but I enjoyed just making for the sake of it. I seem to be crafting less and less as I just can’t squeeze enough free time out of my day at the moment.
I’ve put the cross stitch to one side for now as I’ve bought a few papercut templates I really want to make as gifts. I’m hoping that by prioritising my makes (and time!) I will get to make some handmade gifts to give this year. Watch this space.
