This year I’ve tried to not buy any new Easter decorations. I’m really trying to cut down our use of single-use plastics and using up what we have before we buy anything. In our Easter box we had a *lot* of plastic re-fillable eggs. They are perfect for an Easter egg hunt at home. Recently I was sent a bundle of Duck Tape washi tape. It’s been a while since I crafted with washi tape. Have you heard of it? It’s a Japanese tape which is easy to tear and easy to re-position and great for crafting with. I thought…

Yesterday I finally finished shopping for Easter eggs! Easter seems to get bigger and bigger every year but I’ve been working hard to make sure the family have some delicious Easter gifts to open and enjoy this weekend. We’ll be taking down all our birthday cards this week and we’ve been busy making some of our own Easter decorations to hang up. Yesterday the weather was beautiful and sunny (not so today unfortunately) and we had some messy, paint-y, after school fun with our paper plate Easter basket and sponge print egg activity. Read on for the full tutorial. Items…

I am so happy to be seeing the signs of Spring around me. Yesterday I hung the washing out for the first time this year and the children played happily in the garden. I gave them a bucket of water and sponges so they could clean their trampoline. I have a favourite road to drive down and the trees are full of blossom. I feel so happy knowing that Spring is here. I’ve been encouraging the children to notice these signs too. I want them to be aware of the changing seasons and appreciate them. We’ve been collecting the falling…

My children love Minions, so today I’m going to share with you how much fun they had with the Aquabeads Minions Playset. You know that they love crafting with Aquabeads as we’ve reviewed lots of the sets over the last few years. They are basically beads which fuse together with a spray of water and are dry in 10 minutes! They are seriously simple to use which is why they are very popular in our house. Aquabeads Minions Playset We received the Aquabeads Minions Playset to review. This is playset so comes with everything you need – a plastic tray with…

Have you noticed how much lighter the evenings are here in the UK? The days seem to be getting noticeably longer every day and the clocks go forward in a few weeks. I feel so much happier at this time of year and seem to achieve more, thanks to the extra hours of daylight. Of course more hours of daylight means more time to spend with my children. We’ve spent a few hours tidying up the garden, and even mowed the lawn for the first time. I can’t wait to give the playhouse a spring clean and tidy up the…

My lovely little boy is going to be 8 next week. 8! I can’t quite believe that my lovely little baby is growing up so quickly. Thankfully he still loves to craft just as much as I do and we have plenty of laughs together. He recently discovered The Diary of a Wimpy Kid books which have been great for him. You may remember he was a bit of reluctant reader until he discovered Star Wars books. I didn’t think his Star Wars obsession would ever end but I think The Last Jedi might just have ended it for him.…

Today the sun is shining at long last. It even feels a tiny bit warm but ssshh, I don’t want to jinx the weather just yet. With a touch of Spring in the air I thought it was a great time to have some after school fun with my daughter and create a hand print bird. She loves to use her hands and I think this kind of craft makes a great seasonal keepsake too. Spring bird hand print craft We used: Yellow card Orange craft sticks Yellow cupcake case Googly eyes Bostik Glu Dots The first thing we did…

Can you believe this time next week we’ll be celebrating Mother’s Day? Now that the snow has melted my thoughts have been turning to Mother’s Day. It’s a fun day to honour the women in our lives. I can’t resist making a handmade card with the kids and I have to admit that we made ours last week when we were stuck indoors due to the snow. The weather gave me plenty of time to look for ideas for handmade cards and gifts to make this Mother’s Day. Mother”s Day falls on Sunday 11th March here in the UK but…

Do you ever wonder how you’ve ended up with so many craft supplies? The house is full so we have been trying hard to use some up lately, especially as the snowy weather has kept us inside. Everything has been very pretty but WHITE. To bring some colour into our life we had fun with a large box of ready made pom poms. The children have been using them for all sorts of things – mainly covering their Sylvanian Families play scenes in snow! I thought I could keep them busy by getting them to sort the colours and making…
