It’s the second time we’ve been able to visit a pumpkin patch, clearly a growing trend here in the UK. This time I made sure to take along a fun activity to keep the kids busy, our free Pumpkin Patch Scavenger Hunt printable. The children are getting excited about Halloween and have been busy planning their outfits when they go Trick or Treating. I’ve shared a few fun Halloween crafts for kids this year and am delighted to add this Black Widow Spider line activity for kids. It’s a fun craft activity which will help develop kids fine motor skills. Black Widow Spider line activity for kids supplies: Construction paper (or card) Black Marker Scissors Glue…

Photo by Estée Janssens on Unsplash Disclosure – this is a collaborative post One of the fundamentals of formal education is learning how to read and write. Reading and writing, much like any other skill, require constant practice for improvement. However, once kids leave the school premises, their chances of practising are reduced unless they have homework. Why You Should Teach Your Kids How To Journal As a parent, you can teach your kids how to journal daily. Journaling gives your children many opportunities to hone on their communication skills. When done right, journaling can become a healthy habit that kids adapt and…

It is well and truly Autumn here in the UK. It’s my favourite time of year and I love watching the leaves on the trees change colour. I’ve lost count of the number of ‘treasures’ my daughter keeps presenting me with every time we leave the house. She’s as drawn to conkers and acorns as I am and I keep finding little piles of them all over the house. Our Autumn Bucket List There are some great activities you can do with the kids during Autumn so I thought I would make an Autumn Bucket List of the things we…

My youngest just loves horses. She went on her first horse ride last year with Beavers and absolutely loved it. Sadly we can’t squeeze horse riding lessons into our busy schedules of after school clubs and activities at the moment. However she was pretty delighted to be asked to draw her dream horse. She just loves drawing and was so happy to set herself up with her favourite colouring pens and get drawing. Designing a dream horse with PetPlan Equine Now I think that a lot of us dreamt of having a horse when we were younger. But my daughter’s…

My 7 year old is currently obsessed by all things Pokemon. I think it started when we went and watched Detective Pikachu at the cinema and she has been spending her money on Pokemon Trading Cards and poke balls ever since! Yes, we all played Pokemon Go all over the Netherlands and Belgium the other week. Earlier in the summer we had some wet weather so used the time to make a new stash of painted rocks to hide in our local area. Our local Painted Rock group is really busy so we’ve been making lots of painted rocks to…

I seem to have spent the last few days sewing labels on everything. I like to think of myself as quite organised but getting two kids ready to go back to school is always a larger job than it should be. However we have bought the shoes, ordered last minute uniform items and packed pencil cases. We are ready! Which means we can spend the last few days of the school holidays crafting. Bostik kindly gifted up their Micro Dots to use and they were really easy to use in our craft stick pencil bookmark. This is a fun little…
