Today I wanted to share another cute cover gift I recently made. I love these little kits, this just took an hour which gave me the little crafting kick I needed. It included a mini wooden scallop frame, 4 shades of thread (blue, light blue, brown and yellow), 100% cotton fabric, a keychain and ring. With some decent Spring sunshine finally here I decided it was time to bring out the Spring stitching projects. Take a look at what I made. Spring pennant kit from love embroidery magazine This is another of those projects which has been sitting around for a while (as you can tell from the old table cloth backdrop I photographed this kit on). I love a little pennant and knew this would be a fun cover gift to stitch and hang on my desk. The Spring pennant kit was designed by Jessie Newton of The Wild Doe for love embroidery magazine,…

I know it’s a cliche but April is nearly over already. The weather has been amazing so we’ve spent a lot of time outside, there was still plenty of time to plough through my craft cupboards and make though. My daughter and I crafted a lot this month – there was a lot of baking and some sweet Easter bunnies too. What I made in April 2025 I always try to make the free cover gifts which come with my magazine subscription. The bee keyring from love embroidery magazine has been sitting around for a while but I finally stitched…

March was a fun month! I love the chance to look back and see what I’ve made. It was a bumper month thanks to discovering a new, local, workshop, some lovely books, a trip to The Stitch Festival and lots of sewing too. What I made in March 2025 I started the month by reviewing Bouquet in a Book by Prudence Rogers. This was gifted by David & Charles and I was happy to make my own paper flowers. I usually enjoy any type of craft and this was a bit different for me to learn. You can read my…

February has flown by, thankfully so much quicker than January! What I made in February 2025 I started the month by searching for something to make for the Benzie Design Valentine exchange. I found Nuovolina’s felt key tutorial and made one for my partner. I thought this was so different to all the other Valentine makes I had seen. I received a copy of Bouquet in a Book to review. This contains lovely paper flowers to press out and make into a bouquet of flowers. I’ve tried making the sweet peas so far and they are really pretty, and will…

The longest month of the year is finally over! January is my least favourite month so this year I set myself a few projects to complete. I hoped this would make the month go a little quicker, seeing the weeks pass through the finished projects on my work table. The first project completed was this sweet little log cabin embroidery hoop. This was a free cover gift which I had started but not finished. It only took a few hours to finish. My second completed project was the cute gingerbread house embroidery hoop, another free cover gift with an…

Creating animated clips from children’s artwork is a wonderful way to celebrate their imagination. Transforming a drawing into a short animation can bring their creativity to life in a fun and interactive way. This activity encourages artistic growth while allowing parents and children to collaborate on something meaningful. By combining simple tools with creative thinking, children can see their ideas take shape in a lively, engaging format. The process of finding tools to make animation can seem challenging. However, with accessible resources and straightforward guidance, anyone can create animated clips to share with loved ones. Watching a child’s artwork move…
