We’re more than halfway through the year and I can’t help thinking about some of the festive projects I want to finish this year! There has been plenty of seasonal stitching though, including some pretty florals. What I made in July 2025 I finished my Pretty Fabrics and Trims huswif finally. It felt so good making this. I enjoyed embroidering the cover, making the EPP hexies and being brave and trying something new. I’ve been using it quite a lot which is good, because often I’ll stitch a hoop and don’t really display them. You can read a longer post…

I’ve been working on making myself a huswif or housewife and I’m so excited I’ve finished it and can share it here. Making a huswif sewing kit This was from a lovely kit from Pretty Fabrics and Trims. I received it as a present some time ago but was too scared to make it. Last year I embroidered the front cover but them put it away, too scared! This year was the year to complete the huswif, so in March I opened the kit up and looked at all the different parts! The kit came with labels which was helpful…

The last day in June seems like a great time to sit down and reflect on the month. I hit a major creative slump this month, but I’m glad to say it’s over. I spent the weekend working on a huswif, or portable sewing kit, and it’s made me feel so much happier. What I made in June 2025 At the beginning of the month I finished stitching the bee embroidery hoop I told you about previously. The design by Emillie Ferris featured a gorgeous bee and marigolds. This was a kit that had been sitting around for a while…

The only magazine subscription I have these days is Love Embroidery. It’s a great magazine packed with projects and inspiration and I love the cover gifts. The latest issue 67 included an embroidered ice lolly keyring stitch kit. Embroidered wooden keyring stitch kit When I opened the envelope a wooden bobbin fell out, along with 5 colourful skeins of thread and a keychain. The wooden bobbin is great for organising threads for your latest project, but also makes a fun keychain to hang from your bag or keys. The magazine had two different templates. One for an ice lolly, the…

Where did May go? Time for a monthly update! What I made in May 2025 I’m working my way through my craft stash and thought it was about time I made the MakeBox Modern English Paper Piecing Ladybird which was released in June 2023. I enjoy English Paper Piecing but usually stick with hexagons, diamonds or simple shapes. This kit has really been testing my patience! I wanted to use the finished ladybird on a banner and it just about fits. So far I have made half of the ladybird and have set it aside for now. Some of the…

Today I wanted to share another cute cover gift I recently made. I love these little kits, this just took an hour which gave me the little crafting kick I needed. Bumblebee keyring kit from love embroidery magazine The Bumblebee keyring kit came with my Love Embroidery magazine subscription. It included a mini wooden scallop frame, 4 shades of thread (blue, light blue, brown and yellow), 100% cotton fabric, a keychain and ring. The Bumblebee keyring kit was designed by Matilda Smith for love embroidery magazine (issue 41, 2023). With the kit you got the chance to learn 3 simple…

With some decent Spring sunshine finally here I decided it was time to bring out the Spring stitching projects. Take a look at what I made. Spring pennant kit from love embroidery magazine This is another of those projects which has been sitting around for a while (as you can tell from the old table cloth backdrop I photographed this kit on). I love a little pennant and knew this would be a fun cover gift to stitch and hang on my desk. The Spring pennant kit was designed by Jessie Newton of The Wild Doe for love embroidery magazine,…
