Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me smile in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures.
Five Happy Things {Week 20/2025}
On Monday I took part in Mass Observation Day on the 12th May. The project aims to record everyday life in Britain and anyone can submit their diary for the day to the Mass Observation archive.
My kids were kept busy with their after school activities. My son went kayaking after school with with Explorers, my daughter went climbing at Harrowall.
Over the weekend we went into London to go and see the Land Rovers of London meet up in Belgrave Square. My daughter loves Land Rovers so she was very excited to see so many different ones. Whilst we were in London we went to Liberty to see the I Am. We Are. Liberty. exhibition and the Liberty Patchwork House, each square made by the creative community who love Liberty fabrics. It was really lovely to see it up close and I wish I had contributed a square to it.
I’ve been busy working on my MakeBox Modern English Paper Piecing Ladybird. This was a kit I bought a while ago but really want to make. I replaced some of the fabrics which Liberty fabrics but it’s proving quite tricky to make.
When my sewing gets difficult I turn to reading and have chosen Someone at a Distance by Dorothy Whipple as my current book. I do love Dorothy Whipple and I’m enjoying this so far.
What’s made you happy this week?
