How to crochet a mini wreath ornament

Posted on December 5, 2024 by jenny

We are on full on Christmas crafting mode at the gingerbread house. It’s always fun to get out homemade projects, but I’m always happy to add more. This year we’ve made some crochet mini wreath ornaments which are great for popping on the tree. Read on for the full tutorial.

List of supplies to make a crochet mini wreath ornament:

Yarn

Crochet hook

Scissors

Tapestry needle

Stitches used for this project

Chain – CH

Magic Ring – MR

Single Crochet – SC

Double Crochet – DC

Half Double Crochet – HDC

Make slip stitch back into the same stitch there and cut off the yarn.

Stitch the remaining yarn tail the backside of the crochet wreath pattern. Prepare a piece of red yarn and draw it through the wreath pattern, from the front. Keep 2 inches extra tail at the front end.

Work running stitch around the wreath and bring the other end near the first tail. Tie a small tail bow with the open ends of the yarn.

I made two, thinking they would make fun ear-rings for our Christmas party! But you can use them to add a touch of colour to a present or even hang from your tree.

Hello! I was wondering, how many times do you do the (1 HDC, 3 DC, 1 HDC, slip stitch)? For some reason when I have made it my humps are also not as noticable. Do you know what I may be doing wrong? Is there a video I could watch? Im a rookie crocheter so Im trying to do different things to learn.
