Have you seen the new Star Wars film yet? My husband has seen it twice and my 5 year old has seen it once so far. I’m really hoping I’ll find a cinema ticket under the tree for me to go and see it! My 5 year old has fallen in love with BB-8 the cute little droid in Star Wars so I thought I would make him a special BB-8 droid Star Wars decoration.
BB-8 droid Star Wars decoration
If you’re not a fan of Star Wars then BB-8 is a spherical robot with a free-moving domed head. He is white, with orange and silver accents and a black optical lens on his domed head piece.
To re-create BB-8 I used a polystyrene ball, and used a left over polystyrene shape from a Baker Ross snowman craft kit.

I painted both with two coats of white acrylic paint. When they were dry I drew on the circles and painted them with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Barcelona Orange.

I added his optical lens with a black Sharpie, then used a tooth pick to hold the domed head on the ball.

We made BB-8 a little box using some Duck Glitter Crafting Tape in gold.
What do you think? My 5 year old loves it and has been playing with it and his new Star Wars toys! I can’t wait to make some more Star Wars crafts next year.

He looks fab. I’ve not seen the film, but my husband has and loved it.
