    The Maid by Nita Prose {book review}

    Last year I was invited to watch HarperFiction’s 2022 Showcase online to hear more about some of their authors and novels for 2022. It was a brilliant hour where I was able to hear about the 2022 debuts from Nita Prose’s The Maid to Cecilia Knapp’s Little Boxes. The time went really quickly and helped me add lots of books to my wishlist. Harper Collins also kindly gifted me a copy of The Maid! The Maid by Nita Prose I couldn’t wait to read The Maid which sounded like a classic murder mystery set in an exclusive hotel. I love…

    Christmas at Kew {review}

    We love a trip to see Christmas lights. Last year we booked to visit Christmas at Kew but it sadly got cancelled due to the pandemic. So we were excited to re-book and go this year. Kew Gardens is a wonderful place to visit any season and we were lucky to visit Kew Gardens last March. Light installations and trails are becoming increasingly popular. Last year we enjoyed the lights around Wembley Park Christmas lights and drove around the track at Silverstone. Experiences are popping up all over the country and make a welcome outdoor activity! Win a pack of Cute Kawaii Face Masks

    image credit As we start a new month and a new year we are all in such a different position to last year. However I am still wearing a face mask all day on my commute and at work. I have a huge selection of masks in gorgeous Liberty fabrics which I always keep in my work bag. I’ve also got them tucked away in my desk drawer and car, just in case. This term my son has gone back to school with a selection of masks to wear at school, hopefully this will help keep the infection rate at…

    Monday Happy Things {Week 377}

    Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List  is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. New Year Skittles experiment for kids

We thought it would work just as well for New Year so designed this New Year Skittles experiment for kids, perfect for a little STEM exploration at home. New Year Skittles experiment for kids You don’t need much equipment. Just a big bag of Skittles, a white plate, and a jug of cold water. Floral Christmas tree embroidery

    I’ve been stocking up on craft kits to make over the winter months. I haven’t had a lot of time for stitching but I couldn’t resist buying the Barmy Fox and Copper Blush collaboration embroidered tree overlaid with a metal tree shape. It sounded odd, but it totally worked. Floral Christmas tree embroidery You can buy each of the five designs on their own or a mega kit of all five designs. I opted for the floral Christmas tree embroidery, although I could easily have stitched any of the designs. The kit came with 2 pieces of fabric (one to…
