We’ve had a crazy Easter so far. This year we celebrated at home with the whole family. We had gifts, a visit from the Elf (he’s not just for Christmas you know!), and a few Easter egg hunts – thank you Co-op for sending us so many supplies! There was plenty of down time with my 6 and 8 year olds too. Easter is fun but they also need quiet time playing with their toys. We had a lot of fun with our Spring time Sylvanian Families sensory tray so we thought we would have more seasonal fun with our…

Both my children have lovely bedrooms and, being on holiday from school, they are getting plenty of time to play in them. We recently re-decorated my 6 year olds bedroom and now it is a really great space for her to sleep and play. I mentioned that earlier this year we put up a really fun print on her bedroom wall. I also been adding some fun, playful touches. I’m a huge fan of monochrome, and whilst I didn’t think it would suit the walls, I couldn’t resist a few items around her room. I bought her a new white…

Last week I told you how excited we were to go and see our first Disney on Ice show at the Wembley SSE Arena. Our whole family are big Disney fans so were really looking forward to trying something new and watching Disney On Ice Worlds of Enchantment. Yesterday we had a lovely morning at home, the sun was out for the first time and it was great to spend time in the garden. After lunch we headed into town as we wanted to go shopping at the London Designer Outlet before the show. We grabbed some bargains and stopped…

Our Easter weekend passed in a bit of a blur thanks to a house full of family. We had Easter Egg Hunts (indoors due to the weather) but it just felt so busy with little time to relax. Thankfully the children have a 2 week break from school which gives us plenty of time to enjoy Easter treats. We have plastic Easter eggs everywhere. They’ve been used in our Nom Nums Easter Egg Hunt, in our usual Easter Egg hunt (filled with chocolate eggs) as well as covered in washi tape. They also make the perfect container for an Easter…

I love the Easter holidays. Christmas is but a distant memory and we’re all enjoying the longer days despite the relentless rain. I know that we traditionally have bad weather over a Bank Holiday but please, we could really do with some dry days! Subway challenged us to enjoy a day out over the holidays without spending any money. Subway have a fab deal where Kids Eat Free with a purchase of an adult meal (find your nearest branch here), so Little Sis and I planned a girls day out with lunch to see if it was possible to not…

We were recently sent a bundle of Duck Tape to craft with. There are some gorgeous colours which are perfect for Springtime crafting. Last week we decorated some plastic eggs with Duck Tape washi tape to make a cute Easter display which just happened to double up as a fun Easter toss game, too. We love to craft with Duck Tape and have an endless list of projects we want to make with it. With a house full of guests over the Easter weekend I wanted to make some last minute gifts so came up with this cute little Duck…

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. I love starting off each week by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week. Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things I led a session at Beavers. I didn’t have long to prepare but I organised some Easter activities which everyone seemed to enjoy. Our weekly session was followed by my first Training session where I learned a surprising amount about the Scout organisation. I also attended the Appointments Evening and I’m hoping to…

Last weekend we threw my 8 year old a Minecraft themed birthday party. I had so much fun planning the food, drinks, games and party bags. I had some Minecraft tattoos left over and decided to make some simple Minecraft Easter eggs to use as decorations. My 8 year old was quick to tell me that there are no eggs in Minecraft so these are spawn eggs – perfect for those who play the Creative mode in Minecraft and want to spawn good or bad creatures. Equipment needed: Plastic eggs Pinty Plus Basic Mint Green (6029) Minecraft tattoos How to make Minecraft…
