    Five Happy Things {Week 10/2025}

    Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family. Five Happy Things {Week 10/2025} Last week we celebrated Pancake Day with lots of different types of pancakes. I bought some ready made ones (so we could all sit down and eat together) but we also let the kids make their own. They are so delicious I’m not sure why we…

    Go Karting at Teamsport High Wycombe

    If you are looking for a wet weather activity for teens then I would recommend indoor go karting. My teens love go karting and we thought we would try the new track at Teamsport High Wycombe. This wasn’t the easiest venue to find inside the Eden Centre, but once we had walked around the shopping centre for a while we found it and booked in. Go Karting at Teamsport High Wycombe We’ve been indoor and outdoor go karting quite a few times, most recently to the Teamsport track at Watford. The High Wycombe venue feels similar, we were given overalls…

    The National Museum of Computing with teenagers

    In January we combined a trip to Milton Keynes to see the Vanessa Bell exhibition with a trip to The National Museum of Computing at Bletchley Park. We spotted the museum on a visit to Bletchley Park back in 2019 and promised we would return one day. The National Museum of Computing with teenagers At The National Museum of Computing you can immerse yourself in the evolution of computing from the pioneering efforts of the 1940s to the rise of personal computing in the 1980s and beyond. Both my kids love their tech so I thought they would enjoy a…

    Five Happy Things {Week 9/2025}

    Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family. Five Happy Things {Week 9/2025} Over the weekend I finally finished my Liberty Tumbling Blocks cushion. I used black Liberty fabric for the back of the cushion, as no one gets to see it. It’s a large cushion and I’m so glad it’s done. The blocks are made is red, black…

    What I made in February 2025

    February has flown by, thankfully so much quicker than January! What I made in February 2025 I started the month by searching for something to make for the Benzie Design Valentine exchange. I found Nuovolina’s felt key tutorial and made one for my partner. I thought this was so different to all the other Valentine makes I had seen. I received a copy of Bouquet in a Book to review. This contains lovely paper flowers to press out and make into a bouquet of flowers. I’ve tried making the sweet peas so far and they are really pretty, and will…

    Axe throwing with Game of Throwing {with teenagers}

    Our youngest teen suggested she would like to try axe throwing so I found Game of Throwing in Hammersmith. With both teenagers on a half term break I booked an hour session so we could try axe throwing with Game of Throwing. Axe throwing with Game of Throwing It turns out that both teens have tried axe throwing a few times with Scouts so it was just us parents who needed some help from the Axe Master. We were shown our lane and given a brief introduction to the set up.  Our hour session meant we could choose from the…

Five Happy Things {Week 8/2025} Last week the kids were on half term so we planned a few fun days out, including axe throwing at Game of Throwing. The kids have tried this a few times with Scouts but I had never done it before. It was actually quite fun and…
