    Monday Happy List {Week 299}

    I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I love to write. Life has changed considerably for us and everyone else in the UK over the last few months but we’re beginning to see a little more fun in our week. As the UK is no longer in lockdown I’m reverting back to the original title of this weekly post. Monday Happy List…

    Win Think Like a Dog on DVD

    We love to watch a family film, especially on Saturday night. New films have been in short supply over the last 3 months so we were delighted to receive a copy of Think Like a Dog which is out on Digital Download on 6th July and DVD on the 20th July from Lionsgate. It’s a very funny, entertaining film – perfect for kids who love dogs! Think Like a Dog Have you ever wished you could talk to your pet? Well, anything is paw-sible this summer as Josh Duhamel and Megan Fox star in Think Like a Dog, the whimsical…

    Serene Spring embroidery with the Spring Craftpod box

    It’s safe to say I’ve kept busy with a lot of crafting and making during this strange period. I’m thankful it was already a hobby and I had a lot of supplies and I haven’t really needed to purchase much. It was my birthday the weekend we went into lockdown and my husband had kindly bought me the Spring Craftpod subscription box as a gift. This is one of my favourite crafty subscription boxes, the quality of the materials is always perfect, which isn’t always the case (I’m looking at you Mollie Makes). Serene Spring embroidery with the Spring Craftpod…

    Visiting the Pick Your Own Farm with kids

    We’ve been so excited, waiting for our favourite fruits and veggies to be ready to pick. It seems ages ago since our last visit to our local Pick Your Own farm in Iver, just down the road from Ruislip. You can now book a slot to visit, so we booked an early morning slot and set off to pick some delicious fresh fruit. Visiting the Pick Your Own Farm with kids A huge sign greeted us, letting us know what was available to pick. We showed our tickets and were let through to the fields. We picked up some buckets…

    Simple felt winter wreath banner

    Regular readers will know that every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have had a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for grown up crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new. Winter wreath banner The cute little Winter wreath kit came with Issue 113 and I’m not sure why I didn’t make it. I love sewing with felt but this little kit got tucked away and forgotten about. With the Summer sunshine gone away for…

    Recycling the recycling with Re.cycle.me craft kits

    I do love a craft kit and was delighted to be sent some of the new range of re.cycle.me craft kits to try out with the children. We love junk modelling and always seem to have a full recycling bin, perfect for turning cardboard tubes and bottles into something else with the help of a re.cycle.me kit. Recycling the recycling with re.cycle.me craft kits With the objective to introduce more sustainable toys within the arts and crafts category Recycle Me was created. The overall goal is to teach children and parents to use household disposables and creatively turn them into…

    Exploring Denham & Denham Country Park with kids

    We have explored so many amazing places that I feel like I will never get a chance to write about them all. It seems weeks ago since we made it to exploring Denham Country Park with the kids. It’s another one of those places right on our doorstep which me had never got around to visiting, until now. Exploring Denham Country Park with kids We’re lucky to have a few Country Parks within easy reach of us, definitely one of the perks of living on the outskirts of London. Whilst we haven’t been able to enjoy a trip into the…

    Monday Happy List: Life in Lockdown {Week 14}

    I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s usually a post I love to write but obviously life has changed considerably for us and everyone else in the UK over the last few months. With lockdown easing in the UK our life hasn’t changed much at all. The weeks are looooong but we do manage to squeeze in a lot of living, even if it…

    Cricut-made Stars & Stripes Mason Jar craft

    Our American friends are really excited about celebrating Fourth of July or Independence Day next week. This is a  federal holiday celebrated in the United States which commemorates the Declaration of Independence of the United States, on July 4th, 1776. Our 4th of July paper banner craft is really popular at this time of year so I thought I would add another 4th July craft, a Cricut-made Stars & Stripes Mason Jar craft which would make a lovely table decoration for any celebrations.
