A day at the farm

Last week we were invited to Kentish Town City Farm to meet Paul Lindley who founded Ella’s Kitchen. He’s a lovely man and remembered we had previously met at an event at the ELC last year. Ella’s Kitchen always seem to be bringing out tasty new treats for our little ones and their latest is a new dairy range.

We met at Kentish Town City Farm and I was a little nervous about going there as the toddler shows little interest in animals. He can name them all and is happy watching them on cBeebies, he’s just not so interested in real life.

The farm is tucked into a back corner of Kentish Town but is a lovely haven of noisy animals, flowers and vegetable plots tucked around a couple of busy train lines. The toddler was incredibly excited to see and hear so many trains and we probably spent more time doing this than we did looking at the animals. However there are goats, sheep, a rather large pig, and ducks amongst other animals.

As well as looking round the farm we had a lovely chat with Paul Lindley who told us about the new dairy range and of course tried them! It’s 100% organic fromage frais, yoghurts and desserts which are perfect for my two. As well as no added refined sugar or salt, they contain no concentrates or juices, no E numbers or GM, no gluten and absolutely nothing artificial.

The 7 month old tried both the mango and banana fromage frais (which is perfect from 6 months), and the creamy rice pudding (perfect from 7 months as it has more texture). She loves both, the portions are generous and we’ll definitely be buying these to add to her growing food repertoire. The toddler loves the yoghurt (great from 12 months) which comes in two flavours – strawberry + pear, and pineapple + mango. We’ve always been huge fans of Ella’s Kitchen and we really do love these new products which are a great way of introducing your little ones to dairy.

Kentish Town City Farm is open 7 days a week and completely free.
