Pumpkin picking at the Pop Up Farm London

Pumpkin picking at the Pop Up Farm

Posted on October 18, 2025 by jenny

Last weekend we had our annual trip to go pumpkin picking at the Pop Up Farm. This is the nearest pumpkin patch we’ve found to us in north west London, and is about a 20 minute drive away. I booked flexi tickets as our weekends are filling up fast. Fortunately we were able to visit last Saturday.

This year the kids wanted a variety of pumpkins, a big pumpkin to carve as well as smaller pumpkins to decorate their rooms. We also wanted a large pumpkin so could make pumpkin soup.

We picked up a wheelbarrow and headed into the pumpkin patch where there were some pumpkins which had been grown there, along with pumpkins brought over from their other fields. It was so busy when we visited, but there was plenty of space. This year there were play areas, as well as a covered area for food and drink, and the pumpkin patch with plenty of places for photos.

The kids couldn’t decide which pumpkins they wanted, so the wheelbarrow was really helpful as they picked up their pumpkins.

There were huge containers with bigger pumpkins, each one was examined to find the perfect one!

Alongside the traditional orange pumpkins, there were some white ones and a couple of the light blue ones. There were also lots of gourds. The teens enjoyed walking around, using some of the photo props to take pics, and of course, selecting the right pumpkins.

The paypoint is right at the end and there was an area full of different types of pumpkins, munchkins, squash and gourds of all colours and sizes. There are so many varieties that you never usually see and they have great names, such as the carnival squash and turban squash. I could have picked so many of them but I was restrained! We popped back to pick up some warm spiced apple juice before heading home with our pumpkins.

Are you visiting a pumpkin patch this year?

I love pumpkin patches. Living in Florida is so hot that pumpkins aren’t grown down here.

Pumpkin picking is a great tradition during the fall season in my opinion. Would love to check out the pop up farm this weekend.

The pop up farm looks like a wonderful way to spend a day over the weekend and I love hitting the east end of Long Island to visit the various farm stands and such too. They also have corn mazes and fresh roasted corn…. so delicious!

That’s a cute idea to put small pumpkins in their rooms. I think I’d like a few in my room as well!
