March crafting

March crafting

Posted on March 30, 2023April 2, 2023 by jenny

March has flown by, probably because we had a couple of birthdays and Mothers Day to celebrate. I consciously made more effort to pick up my sewing projects, which was the perfect antidote to spending my day in front of the computer.

March crafting

The first hoop I stitched in March was this cute ‘Mummy & Me’ embroidery hoop kit from Stitch with Skye. It features a Mother and Child with floral blooms on a 6” embroidery hoop. I haven’t made anything for Mother’s Day for a while and enjoyed stitching something a little different.

The second hoop was this astrology embroidery kit from Cotton Clara. The simple Aries design is stitched in a peach thread onto an orange coloured fabric. The design is pre-printed onto the fabric so it was a quick hoop to back stitch.

The final project I worked on this month was the Happiness mini quilt from Pretty Fabrics and Trims. I’ve had this a while but am trying hard to finish kits before buying any more. It’s quite similar to the other mini quilts I’ve made from Pretty Fabrics and Trims so it feels like the quilt top came together in a few hours.

I’m still helping my daughter embroider her Dogs, Dogs, Dogs hoop. This is an embroidery fabric pack with a pre-printed pattern featuring lots of dogs. I’m hoping we will have a bit more time to embroider this over the Easter holidays.

Sounds like a lovely month of crafting, they all look amazing. I keep saying I want to give embroidery stitching a go as I love being creative and it looks like a relaxing hobby. You’ve inspired me to get a kit and give it a go.

I love crafting and recently started to learn basic embroidery stitches. I hope I can create something as good as yours with some practice.
