10 first day of Spring crafts for pre-schoolers

Have you noticed how much lighter the evenings are here in the UK? The days seem to be getting noticeably longer every day and the clocks go forward in a few weeks. I feel so much happier at this time of year and seem to achieve more, thanks to the extra hours of daylight.

Of course more hours of daylight means more time to spend with my children. We’ve spent a few hours tidying up the garden, and even mowed the lawn for the first time. I can’t wait to give the playhouse a spring clean and tidy up the mud kitchen.

The Spring Equinox takes places on the 20th of March and this is the official first day of Spring. It’s nice to mark it in some way. Last year the children decorated our seasonal tree and made Spring crowns. Here are some of our favourite ways to mark the first day of Spring.

  1. I love the recycled cardboard flowers idea as it presents a great chance to teach about the importance or reusing while also having some fun 🙂
