My 7 year old loves the Disney Cars franchise. It was the first film he saw and he has collected pretty much all the toy cars from Cars, Cars 2 and Cars 3 – yes, my house does look like a toy shop!
He’s a creative little person so loves to play with pretty much anything Cars related. Last month he reviewed the 3D Cruz Ramirez Set from Aquabeads. Aquabeads are the perfect toy for creative kids. You create designs using coloured beads on a tray, spray with water and they magically stick together. My son has made a few 2D designs but the 3D set is slightly more challenging.
Aquabeads Cars 3 3D Lightning McQueen set
Put your seatbelts on for a creative ride! Create a cool 3D Lightning McQueen which you can race with friends. The Cars 3 3D Lightning McQueen Set contains over 800 polygon and jewel beads in 6 colours and comes complete with a car frame and wheels so your creation can drive away into the sunset. Just make, spray, stack and your creation will stay!
My son has quite a collecting of layout trays from previous sets. This meant he was able to make all the layers at once. When they were dry he used the bead peeler to take them off the layout tray. Then he could stick the layers together with sprays of water. He likes his Dad to help him with the final stages, even though he is quite competent himself!
The last step is to add the plastic chassis which comes with the set, then you have a moving Aquabeads car! My son has hours of fun with these sets. They are perfect for when he wants some quiet time. He would absolutely love a Jackson Storm set and I think this would make a great addition to the Cars 3 range.
The Aquabeads Cars 3 3D Lightning McQueen set is suitable for children aged 4+. It costs around £14.99 and is available from Amazon and all good toy shops.
